We can thank the effort Deron gave, but with the FO selecting Gordon B. Hinckley...I mean Gordon F. Hayward with the 9th overall pick in the 2010 draft, we have waited 6 years for this...KOC good job for showing Deron the door out of this state and off this team... say hello to the Las Vegas Jazz. I can't believe what I have just witnessed tonight, no more hype for the draft especially with the Jazz.

We might as well trade Deron now. We are going to win nothing with the likes of Deron/Mathews/Hayward/Millsap/Kirilenko.

Never have I been more optimistic for a draft and then so disappointed afterwards.
Jazz could have traded down and still gotten Hayward. And with all the deals going down, Utah could have EASILY bought another pick. Jazz have serious holes and the Hayward pick did nothing to address the Jazz' biggest need. Even with a HEALTHY Okur, the Jazz have no interior presence. If Boozer leaves, that also takes away a player that was picking up 15-20 mins at the 5.

This really sucks!

I busted up laughing....Almost as much as the pick itself!

I know, I hate KOC so much because of this quote I saw on twitter from Ross Siler from KOC...

O'Connor said he told Hayward that "Everyone will think you're the greatest thing since canned soup" once he arrives in Utah.

Yes this was the biggest sticking point. KOC could have traded down to unload Okur or maybe even AK and still got Hayward. Then at least we free up money for Boozer resigning or another FA.

Word on the street is that Deron was a Hayward fan when the Jazz talked to Deron about picking him...

Well, I for one...****ing hate canned soup.

This draft for the Jazz has been comical.

Yeah, I remember about 6 years ago everyone praising the Jazz getting Kirk Snyder, because he finally was the athletic strong dynamic wing the Jazz had been looking for for ages.

That worked out well. Then again, NBA players are made by fan reaction so I'm amazed it didn't turn out better for him.

A: I wasn't one of those fans.
B: Kirk Snyder is the Kobe of the penal system league.
C: Hayward will be a great ball boy.

So whats your point? Should the Jazz never draft an athletic player again? There are more successful athletic players in the NBA than non athletic players. I'll continue to pick the Kirk Snyders while you continue to pick the Luke Waltons.

A) Then you wouldn't have been in the majority and everyone would have mocked you for your lame opinion on a prospect the Jazz so desperately needed.
B) Gee, I wonder why the Jazz don't go for players like him or Stevenson anymore
C) Yeah, he might even actually be great with the ball

What's my point? That I actually like to see the players on the court before I judge what their NBA career is going to be. And both our teams would suck if that were the case, although mine would actually be on the court instead of in jail. Athletic means nothing if there are no brains to back it up with. What sort of career does Steve Francis have now?

More likely he is a talented towel boy.
