I have a theory as to how this misconception about 2019's weakness came to pass.. part of it is people looking ahead at some of the obvious gems in 2020 and 2021..
First things first Ashton Hagans moving up to 2018 is a serious blow, surely there will be reinforcements on the way from overseas though... What this class really lacks, ASIDE FROM BRYAN ANTOINE, is firepower at the guard spots...
The saving grace of that HS class will be the 6'8"-6'9" combo-forward types, u can take it to the bank. Allonzo Gaffney from Cleveland is absurdly underrated, if this class is that bad why are there like 18 players ahead of him on the consensus??
Keion Brooks is also underrated... i actually never bought the Christian brown top-10 hype, but he's settled in around the 30's which is still great value.. Wendell Moore resides in this range... Chandler Lawson is particularly underrated though, some have dropped him to almost 40...
This bigman Carl Lewis from Cali looks crazy underrated at 31... !!!!
Josh Green in the 30's is crazy too.. He apparently impressed NBA execs at the BWB camp.
A player like jeremiah robinson-earl or PJ fuller, or Zach harvey in the 30's, these players could have significant upside...
many of these names i've just mentioned will outperform their ranking and make up for the perceived slack in the class, I could expound further but y'all get the point.
few quick hits bout them top-10 players more for good measure; Charles Bassey as like the 4th best player in the class, thats ridiculous, that kid is not Cliff Alexander, he's going straight to the lottery..
Precious Achuwia is gonna be a monster..
James Wiseman a legit 7' tall too..
