It's well known that Rudy Gobert is the prime rim protector in the league, but people miss on just how dominant he is in other aspects of defense and in the PnR offensively:

Rudy Gobert no. 1 defending the PnR
Rudy Gobert no. 1 scoring in the PnR as roller
Rudy Gobert is no. 3 defending the rim - might be easily argued he's the best at it since he challenges more shots than anybody else by quite some margin
Rudy Gobert is top 5 defending the post

It would be shame if he didn't get the all-star nod. Aren't we all sick of no D and no competitiveness in the all-star game? Rudy plays defense even during all-star break:

Love this!! and 100% agree.

So over score line being 162-154 in an Allstar game... So boring. Get Rudy in there to block some shots into the stands, put a few superstars on their asses and bring back the RUDY SALUTE.

Last thing. Hate Cousins trying to bribe fans to get himself a spot.

"Vote me in as a starter and I'll release my whack as **** album".

Get that weak s*** outta here Cousins, just hurry up sign your extension, get paid and become a career loser in the NBA

More Rudy pimping:

#1 in total blocks (#2 in BPG)
#2 in FG%
#4 in double-doubles
#5 in RPG

Dude is straight up an All-Star--and if it happens, he'll be the 1st D-League player to make the NBA All-Star Team, if I'm not mistaken.

I so want Gobert in the all-star game as a reserve and here's why.

It'll be the typical show boating and having fun. Monster dunks and crazy rim acrobatics. Game will settle into a nice fun rhythm. Then Gobert will get subbed in and some eastern all-star will try something at the rim and Gobert will have him for lunch, snatch his soul right out for the nation to see. It'll be like scene from Animal Planet when a lion makes a kill in the tall grass and there's red all over everything.

Actually, for the moment Rudy is #1 in BPG...

Meanwhile the Thunder have the night off and Kanter is still getting abused by the pick and roll.

A 24-year old franchise changer. Selected with the 27th pick. ...Probably caused DL to have a multitude of religious conversions.

But he got them back by agreeing to draft Burke, Exum and Lyles in the lottery. Imagine how good the Jazz would be if just one of those players were even a serviceable backup.
You don't consider Lyles a serviceable backup? Your expectations are unrealistic.

Just cited this in a debate with some dude and he apprised me that sports VU data doesn't account for all outcomes. Per synergy Gobert is 43rd percentile in PnR defense. The link by the OP indicates 1.4 possessions but per synergy he faces 10.3 per game.

Nah mate. Gobert has been *** in pnr defense an teams are exploiting it. It was the reason the Suns lead most game. Rudy still took over doe.

Gobert might be quite nimble for a guy his size he still is a massive 7+ footer : you don't leave him out to dry in the open planes beyond the free throw line. He will get exposed if this happens. PnR defense is team work.
