What's new

Jazz @ mavericks

Kinda surprised about Favors - thought tonight had 20/10 written all over it for him.

Least he'll be rested for tomorrow.

No man. You can't worry about who you are reboudning over as a rebounder. If you are a great rebounder you have the mentality of going after every board. You really can't turn that off/on. It's not like our guards push the ball off rebounds either, so your point is kind of moot.

It's not a matter of switching it on or off, its about communicating. If Hayward yells my ball then Gobert doesn't go up for it and simply blocks out, same applies with Hill and Burks. Bogut managed to do it with Golden State I see no reason why Rudy can't manage it. When the game gets close however it can be a bit different as the opposition is probably going to be looking for the offensive rebound but for the start of games teams generally are prepared to give up the rebound and look to get back on defense.

As for not pushing the ball, this is something as a team we need to get much better at. We don't necessarily have to play a faster pace but we need to get into our offense faster and generally speaking the faster the ball is moving on offense, the more open look you will generate.

Nope. If your a rebounder you go for every board without worrying about who else is going for it. Especially if your the biggest guy on the court.

Yeah, it's not going to happen and it's kind of a ridiculous thing to ask of him. I'd rather him just continue going after rebounds without worrying about what the 9 other guys on the court are doing.

Joe Johnson's presence of mind was incredible. He was in the lane for the rebound, but as soon as he saw it went long and Rudy had it, he went straight for the three-point line, zero hesitation. And that shot was never going to miss.
