What's new

the worry thread

Yep watched mostly every game. That is why Hayward struggles without Hill. Sure he is getting better than in the past. But, this year he is scoring because he is getting to the foul line. Not that he all of the sudden has a one on one game. He isn't close to those other three players. I'm saying in the playoffs if we play off him we are in trouble. I'm impressed with Burks this guy gets no credit and is one of the most efficient players we have on offense.

Did we struggle last year? Same team same Gordon. Now Hill has come into create through the offense which has helped Hayward. How many times is he getting a backdoor or wide open three. The offense is his best friend.

You should discuss this in the gamethreads sometime. Watch the game tomorrow night and each time the jazz score we can discuss if haywards ability to create had anything to do with the scoring. I think you will be surprised by how often it does. Doubt you will show up though.

I wonder if you're talking to a troll?

I think you've done more than that. You have 1710 posts. Troll posts. bye.
What does that even mean. You are critical of Exum, Burks, and Favors. Each of them makes at least 5 million less than Hayward. But, when Hayward has a lousy bunch of games all I hear is crickets form the peanut gallery.
Grizzly game 3-13 .308 from 3 point line 0 of 3
Denver game 2-10 .200 from 3 pt 2 of 3
OKC game 6-17 .353 from 3 pt 2 of 6

Meanwhile Alec Burk
Grizzly game 4-5 .800 from 3 pt 2 of 2
Denver game 5-9 .556 from 3 pt 0 of 1
OKC game 4-7 .557 from 3 pt 0 of 2

One player is efficient and can create the other is Gordon can do anything wrong Hayward

Our payroll is 27/30 teams and we're one of the best teams in the West. We have assets and a lot of future draft picks - we're not going to suddenly be this awesome team overnight with zero speed bumps.

Again, we have assets... and can address the most glaring weaknesses prior to the deadline.

It's going to be alright. We have one of the most impactful players in the league locked into a contract and can match Hood, Exum and Lyles when the time comes. We're 7-3 in our last ten games - it's going to be OK.

Yes, Burks creates offense for himself -- I love Burks -- he still has a way to go to create for others. But Hayward is better at creating for others, and he still can create for himself, his step-back, fall-away, and he's using his strength to get to the foul line -- that too is creating offense.

Look at Jingling, he's good at creating for others, not so much himself.

And Hood creates more for himself than others; same with Joe Johnson, who can take over a game for short periods just by letting him ISO.

Lol a troll. You just threw three lesser players under the bus. Yet I'm a troll for questioning our supposed best player. That is weak.

Supposed best player? Lol you mean our all-star who made it in a loaded West?

I don't understand how a player can average 22 PPG without being a creator.

Hill has played like 4 games this year

I'm not say can't create at all. That he is effective because of the system. Look at all the players that leave the Jazz and fade away because they are successful from the system. No way Hayward would average this on other teams.

Also, most of the fouls he has drawn are bailing him out of bad situations.

You're saying Klay can't create his own shots? The system helps of course but I bet he would put up the same or more on a worse team.

I think we're getting pretty broad on the notion of creator. Klay has a quick release and can definitely create space for his shot. But I think the term "creator" should probably be reserved for people who can take you off the dribble and create for everyone on the floor. Klay is definitely not hailed for those skills.

I would agree. Hayward gets his from the flow of the offense. He is not a very great creator in a one on one situation.
