Poker Fools Day 4-1 @ 8pm -- Poker Tournament rnd 2

Franklin asked him about insurance and they talked a little. He could turn it in as an expense.

FWIW about the guns: I never felt threatened or worried about them. I never noticed either of them drinking anything. Those of us not packing were the only ones to make a big deal about it. But I do agree with Gameface that they should have asked permission.

Yeah, I honestly didn't think much of it that night, but the guy from my work brought it up in front a a few other people and they were all astounded. From there I started to question it more and I let it get under my skin a little. I hope Franklin doesn't feel like he offended me or that I'm pissed at his friends. They were all cool. Even the drunk guy who won it was a pretty funny guy and didn't get out of control, imho. I am glad you guys (Franklin and the winner) had a sober driver, though.

Everyone from the site has been great. Not a single no-show in two games...that's damn near unheard of. Good people, and I do consider you guys friends at this point, not internet strangers. A few years ago I hosted games connected with "The Salt Lake Poker Meetup Group" on meetup.com before I took a long hiatus from poker. Good people there, too, but I've had more fun in these two games than I had in all the games I hosted for that group. There are a few who liked to play in my games who I'd like to get in touch with and invite to future games, but it was a much more hard core poker atmosphere with them. You guys really are a lot of fun.

Don't worry about me stopping the poker nights, I'm having much too good a time to even consider that.

Hope to see you all at the next game!

Everyone in your group was pretty cool. The guy open carrying seemed like a good guy. I do think the right thing to do would have been to ask me if it was okay to open carry at the game. I still wonder what his thought process was on the whole thing.

It's a political statement and nothing more. Vic, the bigger guy, couldn't care less about losing his $20, and isn't exactly afraid of getting beat up at a poker game either. He's probably the strongest person I've met and is pretty hard to push out of control. Once, I saw a guy car chase him down and punch him pretty hard through the truck window. He got out and had a casual conversation with this irate road rager (who he obviously could have put in the ground in about two seconds, but didn't).

Anyway, I'm not defending what they did but want to let you know I didn't bring anyone who would get out of control. Dan (the guy who won) is pretty damn loud, but I've never seen anyone he didn't make laugh. Maybe Trout is a first, but I passed out so my hands are washed of that one.

As a side note, we could ask Vic to host a game sometime and all bring our house pets and let them tear loose, fight, and duke everywhere. After all, Utah is a pro-pet state and who, I mean who in their right mind would take that right away from you?

My buddy was a little offended. I think what you said to him was "Oh, you're that little gay guy." or something like that. Just to clarify, La Vida Loca and EMO girl brought their other friend last time, and he is in fact gay. My friend, who played last time, is not gay and wasn't really sure where you were coming from with that comment and I think he fired something back at you. It's all good. I think everyone involved is over it.

Pass on my apology if you can then. It was friendly banter and I didn't really think he was gay. He was cool at the first game and I thought he could take it well. I overstepped things by giving him a hard time too early. He did take a good chunk of my money and what better way to shove it back in my face?

I appreciate the political statement. People should understand that every person has the right to defend their self and that armed or unarmed every person is capable of inflicting great harm upon others. It is not by being unable to harm others that we become safe, but only by one's own personal choice not to harm others.

I am 100% pro-gun rights, I assure you.

Dan was fun, he got a lot of compliments.

My friend, Alex, just wasn't sure where you were coming from. I'll let him know you didn't mean any offense.

I hope everything is cool and that you and your friends will come back again.

Carrying the gun on public property would have been a political statement, not bringing it into someone's house without clearing it first. Kudos to gameface to handling it well, I would have been much more offended.

You might sound like a scared puss, but you're still right. The point was getting into the motivations rather than arguing semantics. I'm still praying for you BTW.

Anyway, what I came in here for is: PM me if you're interested in pulling a Beantown on KSL. Guns, cars, his roommate's wife... just kidding, she's off limits.

To give you some motivation, Trout told Dan to stir the pot by getting me to say "What, it's ok for the small gay guy to screw outside his house, but it's not cool to carry a gun? "

I have Dan's # too. PM.

Well then his motivations don't really make sense. Sounds like his true motivation was to feel like a big man. I couldn't say for sure, did he come with a girl or alone? How much Axe body spray was he wearing?

Well, since you weren't there, your opinion is invalid, *** face. The guy was really nice, funny, and was pretty damn smart. I like playing cards with guys like that. Major props for him being the D.D. also. There is nothing worse than having to babysit a bunch of drunks, but he did it without a problem.

I hope he comes to the next game, I enjoyed taking his monies.

Hopefully I'll be able to make one of these games, but I'd sure feel a lot better about it if there was no chance of it turning into the OK Corral.
