By not making a trade at the deadline and not making a waiver claim the Jazz have done two things.
1. They did not do anything to impede the progress Exum has made as a player. This is very important and I guarantee this was the biggest reason that a move for a point guard wasn't made. Exum has 15 double-digit scoring games this year in 58 games. He had 13 double-digit scoring games his rookie year in 82 games. That's just a quick stat I found by researching and I'm sure you could find plenty more showing his improvement.
2. Every player on the Jazz is set to receive a $260,000 raise because they are 4 million dollars under the salary floor. This is a nice bonus for each of the players and will make all of them happy.
Sometimes the best move is no move at all.
