Auto-save run Amok

I've been seeing, sometimes, some weird stuff when typing my posts, replying to others' posts. It's gotten so bad I can hardly even entertain Red anymore.

auto-save is popping off about every letter or stroke on the keyboard, and I lose the cursor. I find the cursor by hitting the esc key to stop whatever is going on. Often even that doesn't work right away, I have to repeat, repeat, repeat.....

I've asked the mods and management to look into it, and they've been kind, but sorta wonder if it's only on my computer.

crazy thing is it seems to happen only on some types of threads, especially when it's political banter. Do we have spy vs spy shenanigans going on in here with some political wonks trying to bug me????

Not even my computer here. If bugs start slowing things down, it's taken to the shop for a clean-up. So this is only in JFC that this happens. . . . and no one here but me comes to JFC.

I haven't seen auto-save dialog boxes pop-up on this site ever. I imagine it must be a setting that you activated. But on a quick glance over the settings page I don't see anything relating to auto-save.

If you suspect your computer needs some work the first and most basic thing to do is to re-install windows. I'd hate to see a person pay someone else to do that. If you need in-depth instructions PM me and I'll try to help. What version of windows are you using?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm about to start up my own computer, and if I need a little help it's good to know someone who can help. This one is not my computer, and the owner is very sensitive to anyone messing around with something like that, so it will be dealt with their way. Which is a service contract for regular care, coming up soon.

No idea what you're talking about. Are you on one of those Tandy deals? Please advise.
