Well... not exactly what he said but... there you go. Zach Harper sent a tweet saying Favors has been blocked the most times on dunks from any player in the league:

According to @NBASavant, Derrick Favors has been blocked on dunks the most this season w/ 7. Robin Lopez is 2nd w/ 5. Harrison Barnes w/ 4.
— Zach Harper (@talkhoops) March 6, 2017

and here's what Favors had to say:

@talkhoops @NBASavant can't wait to see what happens when I'm not playing on one leg
— Derrick Favors (@dfavors14) March 7, 2017

This pretty much confirms he's playing through this injury and he's not recovered at any point during the season. What the hell is our medical staff thinking and doing? I don't get it? I really don't... they should have just shut him down in November and given him 3-4-6(however many he needs) months for full recovery so he'd be ready for the playoffs. This is not helping anybody. Not Favors, not the Jazz on the floor and not the Jazz off the floor(plummeting Favors' value while he's playing injured and struggling in front of everybody's eyes). What a horrible horrible injury management and media management, what a horrible way to treat one of your best players(whether he wants to play through it or not).

Already when I talk to other Jazz fans they question his heart, his motivation, they believe he doesn't care about winning or competing. If the team shut him down for the season fans would just assume he was a lazy POS.

The 'win-now' movement is a charade. The theme of this season is appeasing expiring (soon to be) vets

I don't care what some random nobodies think on the internet. Get Favors right. Don't let him be a shadow of himself and hurt while trying to play through injuries. Fans are already turning on him, but now they think he just sucks now, cuz you know... 25 year old top 30 players in the league just randomly fall off a cliff for no reason at all.

Favors has been great for this team the past two months. He is getting healthier. It's a two steps forward, 1 step back kind of thing. They are doing a good job of managing him along the way so he is progressing with his athleticism and conditioning.

We might lose that Pelicans game if it isnt for Favors, but shut him down because he isnt 100%. It would be a different story if he was clearly getting worse and worse as the season went on, but the opposite has been happening.

We would have lost other games without him too. The one in Minnesota comes to mind. I do think he's still our best PF even while playing on 1 leg... I just value healthy Favors for fewer games+playoffs more than injured Favors for most games + playoffs.

You sit out Favors for that long and you bring him back right before the playoffs? Even if he was 100% healthy it would take a while for him to get back to game shape, not to mention reintegrate himself into his new role, which he is only starting to get use to after all these games.

It's been obvious to me Favors has not been near 100%. His comment makes me think he expects to better in the future which would be great news. I don't question his heart and motivation a bit. I don't know anything about what's going on medically, but I can tell you he is a guy I would love to keep, especially if he has a chance to regain his health.

He is one of the players that could pay huge dividends for great value if he returns to health a la Steph.

I'm with OP. Sit him out and ease him back into the rotation late. Don't need to watch Amir Johnson look much more athletic matching up vs him..

How much is him wanting to play a manifestation of him wanting to showcase his durability for his next contract ?!?!?

Seems like this will roll over into his off-season..
