It didn't do anything for me even though it has a 98% on the Tomatometer.

I disagree completely. I grew totally impatient and called an abort after an hour and a half.

Maybe this will cut against my reputation for only liking art movies or whatever.

Lately my weekend rentals have consisted solely of renting seasons of "The Wire". Everyone I knew kept telling me about it and now that I have finally gotten around to watching it I am addicted. Effing Awesome.
 
Halfway through the second season. Valchek just got Lt. Daniels in the task force and McNulty is still stuck on Harbor Patrol. For the last two weekends I have literally done nothing more then sit in front of my TV and watch The Wire back to back. I was glad to see that they made a lot of it very realistic.

The second season was weak, in my opinion. The third season was the best, one of the best seasons of any show ever.

I'd rank them 1, 3, 4, 5, 2...but I can see how one would like 3 more...regarding the second season, I found it the weakest because it was watered down. They tried to keep the urban **** going while integrating the dock workers and I just couldn't get into the characters as much.
 
I've started watching Breaking Bad... probably my favorite television show I've seen since Lost.
 
On Encore just now, they showed a commercial/promo for John Travolta Sunday "featuring five of his greatest movies" one of which is...brace yourself...Battlefield Earth...awesome!

YB and KEK, I've heard the third season is the best. I'm enjoying the second season, but not as much as I was the first. I don't want to miss any storylines so I will keep going with it and will probably finish season two this weekend.

P.S. Omar is one bad mother effer.
