ESPN's forecast panel ranks Quin Snyder as 7th best coach in the NBA

Seems about right. Not sure about D'Antoni but he's proven a lot more in this league than Quin. I also think there are a handful of others you could also have over him.

I have no problem with the list of coaches above him. They're all great coaches. That he's considered to be in the same company as the above should be taken as a pretty good compliment.

List seems to be pretty spot on, the biggest questions be D'antoni, he has a bigger resume and all. Might be just me, but I really see Quin as an under rated head coach.

Stotts and Walton should be higher, Kerr (I know) should be lower. I think they have Quin just right.

Agree with everyone else in this thread.

Stotts yes, Walton no IMO as the Lakers didn't throw in the towel this season until after Walton was unable to get the rebuilt team on track. If I was Tyronn Lue or Doc Rivers I'd be insulted, two coaches with championships under their belts and Doc has owned Snyder throughout their short tenures in the Western Conference. I'm not generally one to defend affirmative action quotas or Black Lives Matter concerns but this list smacks of racism.

But what has Rivers actually accomplished with the clippers apart from dominating us? And Lue was handed an absolutely stacked team.

I don't know, getting in the playoffs all three years and to the conference semifinals two out of three would be a pretty big deal if he was coaching our team, let alone the ring from the Celts. And Lue commandeered the greatest comeback in NBA finals history.

But that team had already made the conference semis before he took over, I just don't think he has helped them reach the potential that people expected of them back then. And I think 'commandeered' is a strange choice of words.

Lue can't really be assessed. LeBron is the coach.
