What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Can't believe the Nets are gonna be another year without draft picks.

I thought you couldn't trade away picks from consecutive years?

They didn't. That rule can be circumvented by having the pick go one year, and then a pick swap the next, which is whats gonna happen (just not in that order)

Is Chimezie Metu expected to enter this year's draft? I agree with PG_AB that he's underrated. If he measures out at 6'10," he's a pretty ideal physical prospect, and his FT%, passing and rebounding rate look pretty promising. He could be a great complement to Gobert and can probably extend his range out past 20 feet at least.

Edit: I'm trying to remember what Marquese Chriss showed last year that Metu hasn't showed this year.

Metu is definitely a match in Utah.. His ability to cover ground would be enhanced on this roster.

Chriss has legit SF skills..He was super young too. Had tons of momentum at his back. It's still amazing to me Chriss fell out of the top-5, it was like watching Harrison Barnes fall out of the top-5..

I have no idea whats gonna go on with USC players, They should all test the waters. Boatright, Metu, Stewart and Melton..

De'Anthony Melton got an invite to tryout for this summers U-19 team (coached by Calipari) !!! He could actually be the youngest player in the NBA next year if he goes..

(Pretty sure Ike Anigbogu will be the youngest player in the league next year if he keeps his name in the draft)

Yes Melo should of left after his first season but I still seen him getting drafted and he is going be a solid back up pg for years. He can shoot it and his passing is underrated
. Got to remember he only been playing point for three years. He came to school as a combo guard

I thought he did the prep year to work on his PG skills tho.. no?

Very intriguing prospect . Bet Phil would love to grab him and pair him with KP. That be the future twin towers look since bigs are becoming shooters more every year

I think ultimately Phil's gonna swing for the fences and look for a quick fix (on the perimeter - Josh Jackson)

I'm all for the Lauri pick tho He's certainly not redundant with Porz.. That team would have some kind of floor spacing.. That also works with Derrick Rose if the plan is to try and keep him..

Dr. Jones is there a favorite between Mark Smith and Thomas Allen??

I'm sure Smith could function in that Briscoe type of role on the o-boards and with the rebounding on next years squad that'd probably be the best coach cal squad on the boards since 2012..

I know you've said you want more shooters.. well thats Allen.. I haven't seen too much footage on either, but Allen certainly reminds me of Eric Davis at Texas.

He's much more one-dimensional and certainly doesn't seem to have the same type of pro potential.. I say, bring on the firepower tho.. most of the other stuff is taken care of..

Tea leaves suggest Smith is the bigger target.
Add Baker to the list.

He didn't look great against the great athletes Simeon High School has.. The top prep player here in Colorado is going to the Buffs. Great body size and strength shwartz
I think thatsnhow you spell his last name but he future all pac12 type.gym rat gets tossed around a lot but it's true with him
He's got big shoes to fill with Derrick White graduating. He looks like a damn good prospect tho. Lefty alert.

Reminds me a bit of Oubre.. Very easy sell to be ranked much higher.. honestly u could rank a kid like that higher on the strength of how he projects, doesn't even need to be crazy productive and versatile which appears to be his calling card.

Looks like his standing reach is higher than Haywards for sure.. He certainly could still be growing (seems he's grown from 6'5" to 6'7" fairly recent)
