What's new

Pay Joe Ingles ,he's a coach on the court and does it all

And ... our premier gives away money like oprah !! YOU get 500 million dollars ... so do you !!!!

To be honest, I think it was probably a good move, it was a terrible and close enough to criminal deal done by the Liberal Party as they were leaving office. (Every poll showed they were going to lose and lose big) there was very little reason to build the project especially on the cost benefit analysis the only real reason the Libs wanted to push ahead with it was to hand over a huge chunk of public money to their developer and corporate mates. It was effectively a massive corporate welfare programme, frankly I'm please Andrews stopped it, what the Liberals were trying to do was close enough to theft. I live in the west and work in North Melbourne, the white elephant they wanted to build would help no one.

For a bloke that was meant to be at the bottom end of our depth chart its hard to fathom the magnitude of his contributions this season. I mean, to be leading our 3pt% (with some huge baskets mind you), our go-to stopper, locker room 'glue guy', can create and/or facilitate, can run the point and provide fantastic on/off court leadership... just Wow!!

I've stated previously that I wouldn't pay him a cent more than $8Mil/yr but how can you let a guy this versatile go?? I'm a massive Burks guy but even I will concede that Ingles is far more valuable to this team.

Bravo Joe Ingles, Bravo!

Jingle Joe, Jingle Joe, Jingle all the way..

Oh what fun it is to watch a skip pass on the way, HEY!

This reminds me how glad I am not to be subjected to Bolerhack during these playoffs. Reggie Miller and whoever he was with were FAR superior.

I reckon he'll get offers over 15 million, I think it would be a good deal for everyone involved if he signed for 4 years at 12 million. At the start of the season with Joe Johnson joining the team I seriously wondered if there was a spot for him in the rotation, his emergence has been remarkable.

I think we will get a discount with Joe, He knows there are only a few systems in the league that he can maximize his potential in, he is happy in Utah with a young family and we should be a playoff team for years to come. Also, $10Mil US is worth about $15Mil AUS so I can't see him wanting to leave.

I can't see Ingles wanting to leave either. He's found a home here and seems to fit in just so well. 4 years, 40M would do the trick I think. Frontload it too. I also hope if he stays, Jesus can chime in to convince George Hill to stay as well at a decent little discount. 4 years, 80M. Wishful thinking I know but God damn I love this team and how we are built.

My fear with playing the Spurs in the playoffs going forward would be who would guard Kawhi. The monster from SMU may be a good draft pick for that reason. And then a 4/5 with the other 1st.

Yeah but 15 million in Australia don't buy you much, I spend that on a weekend down the pub. Its actually around 13.5 million, but who's missing the days of joy when we were getting $1.10 to the US dollar? If the difference between the staying and leaving is 20 million USD, i'd help him move.

I hope we keep Ingles as well. I love watching him play. He has heart and leaves it on the court. He is a punishing player to play against, a great locker room guy from what I hear, a linchpin on the offense, a stopper at times on defense, his steals get us half of our fast break points it seems, and I can't see him being appreciated as much on the next roster. Another team probably wouldn't want to play at his pace half the time or would see more value in athletes than him. He would fit well with the Spurs, the Jazz, and perhaps a team like the Clippers, but I don't see him wanting to play for the Clippers and I don't see the Spurs paying as much as the Jazz would.

He's got a great thing going on with an up and coming team and he is appreciated here. MANY players have left the Jazz and their careers have dropped off. It's similar with the Spurs. He will make more money now leaving perhaps, but then I fear that he is the type of player that teams like the Nets later cut because he isn't playing their style. Then he could be back in Europe in a couple of years. Otherwise, he could be a Jazz man for now for perhaps a little less but be happy and a part of a more stable business model for a long time.

Regarding Teo... does he play any defense?

Got 'Im yes, pi$& off you're out !! Well spoken Sir, ah Melbourne voted the worlds most livable city 376 years in a row, you forgot about the Sunday arvo drives thru the Dandenongs, the crashing surf at bells beach, the 12 apostles, no wait 7 apostles of the great ocean road, the never ending entertainment of the gangland war ...

I bet if I went to that place I would be harassed by the cops the minute I got off th eplane and your "gangsters": would bow down to me. Im from Chicago son or as they like to call it now Chiraq.

I don't think we get a discount but I think we get a fair price. Don't see a team overpaying to get him... he's restricted. will get more than the mid level which is what most playoff teams can offer 8-12 per year... he stays and we likely build a statue for him when he retires.

We've been doing mass shootings and police killings in Victoria since way before it was cool. People only tend to get shot here when they don't pay their debts and normally its only a wounding. I miss the good old days when these morons were murdering each other in record numbers and the cops supervised it.

FA Priority for me this off season would be
1) Hayward
2) Ingles
3) Hill

I would seriously rather keep Ingles than Hill. Don't get me wrong I love what hill brings to the team I just don't think what Ingles brings is as easy to replicate.

I see another game where Jingles gets 10 assists again then count me down for this thought as well...... this is hard to do if you're not a PG

I think what Hill does is extremely helpful and he is the better player imo, but the value of their next deals I may agree. Ingles at 10 per or Hill at 25 per?

Ingles at 10 million seems like a pipe dream at this point. He might be 15 million after this playoff series.

I mean, at this point it's a guarantee he gets paid more than JJ Redick, right? They are both free agents and going head to head and it isnt even close who is winning the individual matchup and overall impact.
