What's new

Pay Joe Ingles ,he's a coach on the court and does it all

can probably send a pick and get something done. If he passes a physical, then I think there are more than a couple teams that will take a flyer at his price. But, yeah, he isn't an asset any more.

I think we could absolutely dump him to BKN.

He was healthy down the stretch just not a great fit. BKN, Philly, maybe others might give up a minor asset to take him.

We are talking like one of BKN minimum dudes that was okay or a second round pick or something.

They are also doing a lot of PnR and it isn't like he can run his curl stuff at the same time. He's a spot up guy right now and we aren't leaving him.

Yep, denying him the ball. Its been some great coaching and execution. Bulls did the same thing to the magic years ago, exposed Scott and Anderson badly.

The point with hill is what else can you get for his 20 million. The jazz might be able to bring back d-will for around 10 million.

Would say Williams and teodosic at 20 million be better then hill at 20 million?

I think Burks has more value around the league then we are giving him credit for. He is not a good fit in Snyder's system but he would be a much better fit in a much more open offense.

Well its important to remember this, you know Melbourne is an amazing place. Its a UNESCO cultural capital, we've got the gallery, the arts centre precinct, the best live music in the country. Then there's the arts festival, the writers festival, the fringe festival, the food festival (or whatever they ****ing call it.) the comedy festival, its all happening.

And naturally Melbourne is the sporting capital of the world, more NBA number 1 draft picks have been born in Melbourne than any other city. The heart of the city is the great Cathedral, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the great coliseum which turns ordinary men and women into immortals. Generously we've given the country our great Victorian game, we've let them come here and play with us, not that any of them would thank us for the privilege, the ungrateful, envious ********. And lets not forget about the Cricket, lets not forget big Merv and Warnie (a bloke that ugly was shagging Liz Hurley, what a great bloke, what a bloody Victorian legend)and the corpse with pads Bill Lawry.

And then there's the people, the melting pot of people from everywhere round the world, the multicultural example to the world. Without the contribution of people from Asia, Italy, Greece, the Middle East and of course the great Jewish diaspora our city of hope would not be the same. Lazy Sunday arvos in St Kilda, finishing off the night with a cake and coffee from a jewish café on Acland st. Getting a coffee from Tiamo's in Carlton on the way to the theatre. Getting some dumplings in Chinatown on the way home from the footy, Sydney hasn't got any of this.

Whats Sydney got? A bloody useless Opera house designed by a retard and a ****ing bridge built by a narcissist scab. Its a city divided, physically, racially, full of pretentious ********.

As Victorians I think we should go alone, gotta keep these Australian ******** out of our great state, you know what we should do? We should build a great big ****ing wall and then make the crow eaters and smug self satisfied pricks in Sydney pay for it. That will keep Victoria for Victorians!

You won me over. LOL.

This needs its own thread.

No Hill at 20M is better than Williams and Teodosic... Teo may not be able to be good enough on defense to even play in the NBA. D-Will has been slowed by injuries... I feel like if Exum is on the roster he has to be the third guard.

I think it's a choice of honestly keeping Favs or Hill... assuming we keep Ingles and Hayward. Also assuming we offload Burks. We may decide to keep Favs and go cheaper at PG and then you are into the D-Will, Collison, blue light special bargain bin of PG.

This is what HAS to happen this offseason. We HAVE to keep Hayward and I'm sold on keeping Injles AND Hill.

Who are you going to have replace Hill? Exum/Neto again? We havent had a point guard since D-Will left and it's been miserable. Even 4 years of Hill would be better off than having Exum start for us. 4 Years would put Exum at 25 and probably ready to start by the time Hill's new contract is over and THEN we should be fine with him.

#1 You have to resign Hayward, Hill, and Ingles (There's really no exception)
#2 You get rid of Burks/Diaw if you have to to keep #1 possible (Although, I like both but would honestly rather have Diaw over Burks)
#3 You give us another 4+ years with Gobert, Hill, Ingles, Hayward, and good Jazz basketball.
#4 If we can stay healthy with this squad, we can compete for the 3rd seed maybe more easily.

That is far easier said than done though. I hope that happens, I'm afraid it's unlikely.

I wont go that far but Joe Ingles is an adopted Victorian, he has transcended his questionable origins in South Australia and joined the proud Victorian tradition (Hell he barracks for the same footy club I do so that makes him almost as good as a proper Victorian.) And in the interest of international understanding, I will briefly educate you on some truly great Victorians, that hopefully one day Joe and Dante can join in the temple of Great Victorian Sporting Heroes.

Shane Warne, Australian cricketer and ladies man, this is him i believe in the royal box at ascot, the image speaks for itself. (I was trying to find some video of him in England entertaining some young ladies in a hotel room but youtube didn't have it)

shane-warne-glass-royal-ascot-628.JPG

Merv Hughes, Australian cricketer, Fast Bowler and fat bloke with a great moustache. Telling a ripping yarn. (its three minutes long but the pay off is worth it)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRH4VIasS3Q

and Bill Lawry (Australian and Victorian captain) with his old sparring partner Tony Greig (wasn't a bad bloke for a South African that captained England and lived in Sydney.) these blokes had this argument in our living rooms every summer for 30 years, cricket ain't the same without them.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

The only problem with Williams is that he and Joe Johnson apparently didn't get on that well in Brooklyn. Between the two I'll take Joe Jesus any day.

If that's true you wouldn't dream of bringing him in, Jumping Joe Jesus is far too important to the team.

Not only this. . . but he's a starter in this league. You don't let guys like that go unless you have to. I love Burks, but you move him if you have to clear cap space to keep Jingles. It's shocking to me that Joe ******* Ingles is the Jazz go-to defensive wing stopper. I thought he'd be a glue guy and locker room influence. Couldn't be more pleased to see him play like he has and hope they can come to an agreement to bring him back.

As far as his status is concerned. . . he's a RFA, right? If so, the Jazz have the right to match any offer he gets. I'd prefer that they not let him see GM an offer sheet somewhere. Just work out a good extension before free agency and lock him up without someone else setting the terms.

4yrs 50 million. I think he signs that. Even if some team out there wants to go crazy and offer him 60.

I'm from Sydney...
Not sure I disagree with anything you wrote lol.

To be honest, I think it was probably a good move, it was a terrible and close enough to criminal deal done by the Liberal Party as they were leaving office. (Every poll showed they were going to lose and lose big) there was very little reason to build the project especially on the cost benefit analysis the only real reason the Libs wanted to push ahead with it was to hand over a huge chunk of public money to their developer and corporate mates. It was effectively a massive corporate welfare programme, frankly I'm please Andrews stopped it, what the Liberals were trying to do was close enough to theft. I live in the west and work in North Melbourne, the white elephant they wanted to build would help no one.

sorry dude, have to disagree. Giving away a billion dollars for nothing and breaking a contract is never ok. I have mates who work in transport and are staunch Labor voters who were filthy with what he did. Dan needs to get out into the real world and run a real business and see how he fares with being accountable for money spent.

Some of the stuff that's happened with the rail crossings is just farcical, nearly as much money wasted on poor planning and stuff ups as the desal plant.

Can understand your point of view tho.

The $10.8 mill a year that Burks is getting looks really good now. Bet he's gone.

Also Diaw is 7.5 million and Neto is 1.4 million, both are non-guaranteed.

Boom 20 million from players that would not really hurt Utah by being gone.

Shelvin Mack is a free agent as well. 2.4 million there.

https://www.basketballinsiders.com/utah-jazz-team-salary/
Get rid of Neto and Mack? So 4 pgs to 2ish...who else are you going to get for that cheap? I would keep Neto and hope he or exum become better or as useful as Hill in the long run. Especially if quin keeps using exum at the 2. I want to keep everyone, but the math says that's crazy talk.

I think keeping Ingles makes Diaw expendable.
He fills that roll of QB on the court, willing passer, and can score.

Diaw is fun with Gobert, but he gives up too much on defense, and cant hit a jump shot.
We need to upgrade that position if we want to take a step. I hope we resign Ingles, and move away from Boris.

If he's not shooting he's not helping, he doesn't create and he does nothing to help the rest of the team. Also switching on offence at every opportunity and forcing him and Crawford to defend has been a masterstroke. I wonder if JJ gets home and checks under his bed at night in case Joe is under it waiting for him? When Joe signs his new contract he should send him some flowers or card in thanks.

I disagree on Redick. He hasn't played well, but he sure is helping even if he doesn't shoot. We're chasing him all over the floor, and in particular i game 3 I thought he was very important for them. Lots of opportunities created for others since we're playing Redick so tight.

you may have a point that other bloke who's name i can't spell is having a pretty good series.
