Following potential 2017 draftees...

I'd take a chance on Diallo. Definite swing for the fences type pick. my issue with him is that like Exum, he didn't dominate in HS - I certainly wouldn't take him #5 overall for that reason, but at 24 or 30, yeah, i'm good with it. and because he's an explosive, above the rim leaper he has a higher ceiling the Dante too.

First time i saw his highlights, DeShawn was the first name that came to mind. they are pretty similar coming out of HS, but that doesn't mean they have to be similar going forward. DeShawn never was a consistently good shooter and never developed as a scorer - if Diallo can develop in those areas, he could be very good. But even though Deshawn was somewhat disappointing to me and other fans, dude played 13 seasons in the league and was a rotation guy most of the time - that isn't bust for the 23rd pick in the draft.

DeShawn was around 220 lbs, even as a young player. He had almost a football build. Diallo is much lighter and quicker. Physical comps of Burks or Goodwin seem to apply. The thing with Diallo is that he might have that alpha gene, which combined with quickness and shiftiness, could really help him put it all together. There was something wrong with Goodwin's work ethic or coachability. The physical talent was there.

Ike Anigbogu anyone? We should trade up to get him in case Favs can't recover & Gobert gets injured again. I'm sick and tired of seeing the likes of Withey and Diaw anchoring our D

Diallo has more shiftiness and nuance compared to Ferguson. Depending on whether Diallo can shoot, he might be the better prospect. Right now, Ferguson looks like the Kerry Kittles of this draft, a straight-line driver, and that may be putting it a bit nicely.

I like him. A physical beast who can rebound, rim protect and dunk through contact will always be in demand. I don't see him slipping to #24 though. I'm not sure he's worth trading up for. You're drafting a back-up who is going to play 10 - 15 mins a night.

Not a backup if Favs is gone. I just don't see him recovering back to 100%.

Oh. For people who think Adebayo doesn't have skills out on the floor, Anigbogou has even less. I don't see how he'll play PF.

You talking about a kid who's not gonna turn 18 till Oct this year and has already shown he can hit jumpers and hooks?

I'm all for drafting someone who can create a shot or draw fouls consistently. I like Joe Johnson's resurgence as much as the next guy, but he's like the only person we have besides Hayward who can create a look and score the damn ball.
