Perhaps him not getting a 2nd 10 day from the Jazz helped him more economically in the long run.
Spirou Basket officially announced today, April the 20th, the signing of swingman Kyle Weaver for the remainder of the season.

Weaver, who played his college ball at Washington State University and was drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats in 2008, logged 68 games in the NBA between the 2008-2009 and the 2009-2010 seasons for the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging about 19 minutes-per-game.

Weaver was offered a contract by Maccabi Tel-Aviv last summer but turned it down in order to remain in the United States. It didn’t pan out as Weaver spent the entire season in the NBA’s Developmental League, defending the Iowa Energy and the Austin Toros. He was called up late, by the Utah Jazz on March the 30th, and appeared in five games, averaging 13.8 minutes-per-game, 5.6 points-per-game on 36% shooting and two rebounds-a-game. In the D-League, Weaver averaged 15.6 points-per-game and 5.6 rebounds-per-game over 37 appearances.

Spirou Basket currently leads the Ethias League, with its 22-4 record.
 
Good for him. This may mean he is in a position to earn more next season too (lockout).
 
I think you may see quite a few players looking to get on the gravy train in Europe or Asia if the lockout is long and protracted.
 
I think Weaver is a lesson a lot of border-line college stars should pay attention to. So many of these guys come out early and if it doesn't work out with the first team, they struggle to stay in the league. Good for him to get signed over seas.
 
Speaking of Kyle's, anyone else notice that Kyle Korver finally figured out how to make an actual difference in playoff games in Chicago?
 
I always wonder how different it would have been that Brewer and Maynor don't get traded last year and that the Jazz then pony up to keep Brew, KK and Booz instead of what happened.

An injury-free Brewer was going to demand the kind of money Matthews got. The Jazz offered him a contract before the season started; his agent turned them down. And that's something the KOC critics need to remember; KOC does try to negotiate contracts. But it generally takes the "market" setting a price before a player and his agent decide to sign. Kyle was let go because he admitted passing up shots last season in order to protect his personal record. And that came when the Jazz were often struggling to score points. Booz, let's not even go there. He burned so many bridges that UDOT had to hire two extra crews to rebuild them.

I would guess a first or second round loss to a team that has a lot of length and a shooting guard that can make... shots.
