How about sign & trade Hayward for Isaiah Thomas?

There's rumours that Isaiah Thomas may get traded by the Celtics. They didn't even need him to beat Cleveland.

Is it possible to come to an agreement with the Celtics, whereby everybody wins? We sign & trade Hayward for Isaiah Thomas.

We pair Isaiah Thomas with Gobert where IT's height is negated defensively.

Celtics can pair Hayward with Paul George (by trading Fultz to Pacers).

Everybody wins, no?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I would be all for this ONLY IF HAYWARD HAS DECIDED THAT HE WANTS TO MOVE ON TO THE CELTICS. This trade would be a consolation, instead of letting Hayward walk for nothing.

Should have traded Kanter for him (that was my plan.) Not at all interested in this deal.

Probably not. If Boston goes after Hayward it's an all in move to win now. In that scenario Isaiah Thomas would be off limits in trade discussions.

Well for those thinking this is bad, what if Hayward walks and we're left with nothing?

Would getting IT back not be a bad compromise?

He's an undersized, ball-dominant guard who should be a spark-plug, change-of-pace player off the bench. Celtics should keep him for that role, have him mentor Fultz, lessen his minutes and try to extend his career that way.

Cavs wouldn've swept the Celtics if Thomas wasn't injured. They played better matchup wise without him

WTF would a team that is built around a defensive identify then go and get the worst defender in the league to run the point (our most vulnerable position)??? smh
