Locke seems to think we need to have PG solved going into the negotiations with Hayward. I'm not so sure and think Hayward might prefer the chance that we can still bring back Hill.
I don't think I want to give up draft assets to get Rubio and not sure we have what it takes to get Bledsoe or Dragic. Sooooo if we have to have a PG going into FA would you gamble on Brandon Knight. I think he is not big enough to play the 2 full time, which is what Phoenix had him doing, and is point guardy enough to work in our system.
Not sure they'd just give up on him but wonder if they'd do AB for him straight up... less dollars on the contract and their med staff might be able to keep him healthy long enough to contribute or raise his trade value.
If we have Knight we might still be able to retain Hill if he comes in at less than $20M per season... say his market dries up. Knight then moves to a bench role and inevitably starts the 15 or so games Hill misses. If we retained Hill in this scenario we likely move on from Exum and may move Favors at the deadline to lower our luxury tax bill.
Knight is a buy low guy and I find him more intriguing than some of the other options... but would prefer just retaining Hill.
