Marc Stein: Miami just as big of threat as Boston for Hayward

I think this is a reach. At least I would hope so. You can't talk about wanting to be competitive, and then try to maximize every players salary with no regard as to how it affects your team's cap situation.
Good point

I wonder if he's ever been to Miami. The traffic is horrendous and it's hot and humid constantly. I guess though if you're rich you can avoid a lot of that.
That's the thing.... if you are rich then every nba city is pretty great. You get the best of whatever city it is you are in.

Plus you can still live somewhere not in the city for much of the year.

Hayward did sign an offer sheet with Charlotte so everything is on the table.

Pretty sure it was all about the money back then... I remember people freaking out that he got a MAX contract offer. He would have signed with Cleveland too... it was about dollars and I'm sure he knew we were matching.

The biggest thing Miami has to offer is a great team culture. Riley is very good, Spo is a good coach, they run an up-tempo offense which I'm sure Hayward would love and thrive in.

They're a legitimate risk. I said from the beginning that Miami was more of a threat than Boston.

You mean like how LeBron did it... oh wait.

This type of stuff happens. LeBron's agency reps Thompson and he makes sure dudes get paid. I just think the fact that they are both repped by the same agent is good and if you are negotiating simultaneously and get a deal that gives Joe a couple mil more per year that would make Hayward, his agent, and Joe happy.

If I'm Hayward, I'd only leave the Jazz to play with certain superstar-caliber players that I really like. Probably it's a list of 8 - 10 guys -- Anthony Davis, Karl Towns, Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, etc.

Spurs are the dark horse risk. They clear space and it's Kawhi/Hayward dynasty.

Wonder if they meet... have heard zero noise... makes more sense than Miami doe.

Those two would have some amazing awkward silences between them... not the chattiest of dudes.

For no particular reason I just feel like kahwi and hayward are not a good pairing.
