Zach Lowe: Paul George would love to play with Gordon Hayward

If a one year rental convinced Hayward to stay it'd be worth giving up the assets. If George comes and we are killing it it will make it tough for George to bail. Lakers may suck still and may have to use the assets they have just to dump mozgov and deng.

David Aldridge: Pacers asking teams for ideas on potential PG trades, per sources, as they have for a while. Ideally: 2 firsts+starter. Teams obv skittish. Process will likely accelerate going into Draft, but no certainty anything will get done by then

This sounds very doable for the Jazz. We can offer either Hood or Favors and a first this year and a first next year. Those assets dont really hurt to give up. Favors and/or Hood are not going to be with us past their contracts so we will trade one or both of them anyways or worse case let them walk for nothing.

Dennis Lindsey's time to shine.

I see both K.Love and PG13 as get-able targets.

With PG13 being reluctant in the past to play the 4, would it be wiser and a better fit to go after K.Love?

No, PG is the much better play.

I do believe Love would be a better fit and has a longer contract. We would own the glass. I'd assume Hood would go in a deal with him. If you landed Love then I think Danny Green would be the prototypical 2 in that starting lineup (not sure how you land that) but having Gobert and three real perimeter shooters.

I think the biggest hesitation I'd have about PG is that he duplicates what Hayward gives you and you may not get as much mileage out of it. I guess it's good to have more offensive options and take some of the defense away from Hayward. I do like the idea of Love though. Best front court in the league.

Agree. With Hayward we aren't missing a PG13 type, we are missing a stretch 4 that can get boards. K.Love can do this and more. Maybe a 3 way deal were we help Cavs with the assets needed to trade for PG13.

Favors to Indiana
Hood to Indiana
Lyles to Cleveland
Pick to Indiana
PG to Cleveland
Love to Utah

Pg would play stretch 4 sometimes. We have JJ to do that as well. We'd be a curry or Durant injury away from a championship. Give luck a chance. We need to keep PG away from Boston for sure.

Even if it was only one year. None of the assets we are giving up get us within an injury of competing for a title. In the new CBA with shorter contracts that is basically all you can ask for unless you go full process and stack a ton of top end prospects.

I'd rather have PG than Love but I think our management would opt for Love since he has more years on his deal.

I think pg13 fits the jazz identity vs love.

I do admit we need a4 tho. I think pg is more help vs gs as well.

Regardless if DL could get either here that would be absolutely incredible.

Here's a great trade from our perspective. You'd have to have some picks going different ways.

Cleveland does it. Indiana would need a pick from us. I think Cleveland could send them some kind compensation. San Antonio only does this if they are sure they're getting CP3, but I do not believe they deal Green until after July 1. Anyway, I'd send some kind of compensation to San Antonio.

Hill / Exum
Green / Ingles
Hayward / Johnson
Love / Bolomboy
Gobert / Bogut

Love/Bolomboy/Gobert/Bogut would be the strongest rebounding big man combination that I could ever recall.

Utah gets another star (certainly by Jazz standards) who is locked in for three more years, a compliment for Gobert and (Hayward if stays. Incentivizes Hayward to stay, but also provides insurance that we will be competitive if he leaves.

Cleveland gets not only George but Favors as well to retool for another run next year. They don't care that they're both FAs at the end of the year - they are thinking year to year window. Favors can't shoot but gives them another excellent option at PF/C - TT was not enough alone for the Cavs this year.

Indiana is mostly going for the bottom out here, but gets as good of a prospect as they are likely to get for a one year rental. We throw in a first round as well, maybe the OKC one. Frye is thrown in as an expiring contract for salary matching purposes.

I have been the biggest "Love to Utah" guy around here.

But if can get PG over Love and say no? Lol.

In today's NBA, you want a Gobert, a PG and three 6ft7 to 6ft9 guys who can hit threes and defend.

PG is perfect in Utah. We'd be the second best team in the NBA, hands down.

Get PG and make him your #1 and All NBA player and win 60 games. Then, make him walk away from a shot at a title, more money and 90 mins from LA.

I'd bet he wouldn't leave.

You HAVE to take that bet.

Lakers may still suck too... I'd rather push all in and rebuild in earnest in a year than sit on our hands and end up being mediocre.

Hay, PG, Gobert, Hill... that is legit.

If we can unload Burks to Indiana in the process, sure.

If we could clear Burks, Diaw, Lyles and Hood plus two picks (one this year and OKC next year) for George then being able to maintain Favors for a year would be pretty big.

I think we could get PG13 but I don't see a way we could get Love. I think we have to unload Burks contract to give us the flexibility we need with signing Hayward and FA PGs Like Teo.

From Jazz: Favors, Burks, Future 1st rounders... is not going to get Love.

I think I would rather have Love than PG. The security of 3 years is just preferable to me than swinging for the fences in a single year. I think the most likely scenario is the Jazz lose to the GSW in 6 in the conference finals then PG leaves. Hayward most likely just signed a 1+1 knowing of PG's desire to join the Lakers. Upon George leaving Hayward is faced with the harsh reality the Jazz lost to the GSW even with Paul George, now that George has left the situation in Utah seems bleak.
