What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

I thought Billy King was fired? Why is the management still so bad at Brooklyn... Lopez is a former all star still very much in his prime... I wouldn't even do Lopez for Russel straight up. Let alone taking on Mozgov's disastrous contract. While giving up another first round pick on top of that? Simply a bad trade all around...

Lopez is in his late 20's. The Nets know that their rebuild will be another 3 years minimum. They don't start to get their first round picks again until 2019. By then Lopez will be in his early 30's while the rest of their key players will be in their early 20's. He just doesn't fit their window. The timeframe they are looking at. Mosgov's contract doesn't hurt them. By the time they get their picks back Mosgov's contract will be set to expire.

They got a young and talented former top 5 pick in exchange for taking a contract that won't hinder them at all, a good player who just didn't fit long-term and the #27 pick. Great trade for them.

The wildest **** about Lydon is that in his Freshman year in the tourney he had 3 straights games of 6,6, and 5 blocks.

Eh. He's a good shooter, an ok passer, meh rebounder, ok at defending the rim but also lacks defensive awareness. He's not aggressive, and doesn't play to his talent. He's fine at the end of the 1st, but I don't love him. I never liked Lyles during the draft, and I like Lylesmore than Alyson.

I get that for sure. For me I see it differently... take a guy like Jimmer who is used to getting up a ton of shots... in the NBA he can't adjust to a role. I could see Lydon being just as effective in his role in the NBA as he was at Syracuse. I don't see it as not being aggressive... I think he stays in his lane... honestly chucker Lyles could use a little of that.

He's got a clear skill to hang his hat on...
He's got good positional length...
He's got adequate athleticism...
If he gets in really good shape and works on his body it opens up a lot of things for him.

With all of these guys you have to squint a little and look past some stuff... I like him much more than some of the guys in that range and I'd absolutely gamble on him.

Or he is just a player who doesnt work hard enough to get on the court.

And he dunks all over the G League... he's a second round pick... Let's give Homey something good to watch.

He's long.. you can see it on some of his more athletic plays.

There are a lot of guys worthy of 2nd round picks. I think you should draft someone who is committed to working. It's not like the 2nd round prospects this year are thin.

How do you know he has adequate athletic ability? He always played zone in college.
