General NBA Craziness and How it Applies to Utah

Man, as bad as that Lakers/Nets trade looked, Atlanta seems to have outdone it. Traded down 10 spots in the draft to dump Howard for Bellineli and Plumlee, when Plumlee has an extra year on his contract.

At least you can rationalize the Laker deal. The hawks deal is unfathomable.

I agree with this lol. I just don't get it

A few teams with buyer's remorse.... Lakers with Mozgov/Deng, Atlanta with Howard... I mean, these guys did it to themselves. Portland also has a whole teams full of overpaid guys.

I wonder if this will make teams think twice about throwing out these outrageous offers this Summer.

As good of a deal as the Lopez/Russell deal is for both sides, it is totally baffling that the Lakers didn't just do that deal for George. Like, I'm just... scratching my head. Someone help me out here.
I don't understand why this is so hard to understand. Indy doesn't want Deng or Mozgov. They have made that clear.

I would think so. The next cap level is expected to be about 6 million less than they thought it would be, so that didn't help these teams that were afraid if they didn't throw money around, nobody would be left to sign.

Good thing Utah didn't panic and throw money around just for the sake of spending it.

Maybe Indiana didn't want mozgov and his contract?

Did everyone forget that the salary floor exists? What the Pacers are going to do with whatever cap space they have in the coming years is take on bad contracts for not-great picks and young cast-offs anyway.

And even still. Maybe they didn't want mosgov.
No way to know for sure really

The Cavs are a disaster right now... I'm incredibly nervous. Rumor was Kyrie may push for a trade and that Cavs players told Jimmy not to come there.

If Boston lands Jimmy and gives up some contracts I think the advantage clearly goes to Boston at this point as the Cavs may have one more year in their reign at most. Things being bad there really hurts us... Boston would be the clear heir.

Not the death knell, but if I am DL I am working the next two days under the assumption that we are not the leader in the clubhouse... whether that makes us more aggressive or less aggressive I don't know. This is a ****ty development for us.

It is but I think we are lucky it's not next offseason. That's when the Cavs will seemingly complete the implode from within.

What the BUUUUUUUTTTTTT are the Hawks doing? I have no idea. I didn't get their move last year either to give up Teague for Taurean Prince... I didn't get giving up Korver for Dunleavy, Mo Williams (injured/cut?), and a draft pick in 2019. But that one may make sense eventually...

At this rate, why not just offer Favors and a second round pick for Millsap. When there is a yard sale with cheap momentos for sale, why not pick up your childhood memory? Millsap would fit very nicely next to Hayward and Gobert. What's holding the Hawks back at this point? They are going for broke at being the worst team in the league and Millsap won't let them because he is not wired that way.

Maybe because you need to pay him 180M for 5 years? Maybe because after year 2 it becomes the albatross of all contracts?

No Hayward and no Hill in their plans. Good.

I've said it for a while. Millsap would be amazing next to Gobert. HOWEVER, I don't give him max. Honestly, I don't give him more than $25.

I would send Burks and Favors to Atlanta for Millsap (after sign and trade). Atlanta gets a year to figure out Favors, and you never know, Burks might emerge if given the kind of minutes Atlanta could give him.

I logged on for a temporary/draft-hype comeback, but I can see yall have let LoPo bulldoze the site. Yick.

I'm nervous as hell about Hayseed, fellas. But I'm glad to see the market for Hill dry up a little bit. I think that helps keep Hill and Hay.

Very interested to see what we do with all these picks. I guess the two-way contracts makes it possible to keep all of them, but I'm hoping we pull a big tarde.
