Once you are over the cap(we are) letting players go don't make you better. You don't get flexibility by letting Hill go.
I agree with your statement but how are we over the cap?

That's the real question now. The two places I saw over paying him were Brooklyn and Philly. With them gone, I have no idea where he would go. I thought he seriously might get 25/year. I wouldn't be surprised now if it was closer to 15.

Hayward 30M
Hill??(how much do you think he will cost? 20m? 25?) Lets say for calculation sake 20
Favors 12M
JJ 10.5
Burks 11
Gobert 21.5
Exum 5
Hood 2.5
Lyles 2.5
Diaw 7.5
Ingles ???10???
Neto 1.5
Bolomboy 1.5
2 first round picks 3M
-------------------------
138.5M
If you remove Diaw and Hill, we are still over the cap, If you manage to dump Burks for nothing, we are 1M under the cap. And we still cannot do anything with that 1M of cap that we wouldn't be able to do with our exceptions.
Oh I'm talking present tense. Right now I see us at about $65.7 million in salary
Right now we have capspace. For about 1 more week... We cannot use it for FAs though. We can only use it to absorb contracts in trades.
Why do you think Bev wouldn't help our chances. Say we get it done and then do another deal or use the diff in salary between him and Hill to improve other spots. The biggest holes we had were PG when Hill was hurt and PF. We could get a big wing or Small ball 4.
Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams would take up $12.5M of the $13M cap space we have available.
It's almost too perfect not to happen.

Our chances for what? Keeping Hayward? I just don't think Hayward would see this as a step forward. I can't see a universe where he looks at Beverley on the Jazz and Hill leaving and thinks "we are getting better". It looks like a step back. What's the PF you are going to get to make up for it. The problem with the PF position was that Favors was injured, not that we didn't have anyone.
Are you going to pay the luxury tax? Beverley alone almost guarantees we are in the lux tax. If you add Lou, it's almost set in stone.
