Agree with everything except the consider trading Rudy part. No way in hell the Jazz should look to trade Gobert. Everyone else is fair game though. If we tank, we tank with Gobert. He's irreplaceable. Plus, he loves this team. This is now his team and he will rise to the occasion. He was always the leader of this team and this cements it.
I agree in theory but the reality is that, as great as Gobert is, there are disadvantages to re-building around him (considering our current talent level). I would only contemplate doing so if the offer justified it, but his contract would essentially limit our window to the length of his contract (unless you're 100% confident he will re-up regardless-which is possible).
Also, his (& co's) talent likely keeps our future picks in the 14-20 range, unless we completely gut the rest of the team, which I'm still not positive even propels us to a top 5 or even 10 pick(s).
As much as I want to see Gobert retire a Jazz, unless you're sold on Exum, Hood, & Mitchell developing into impact players, I don't see how we acquire the elite talent necessary to eventually compete for a title without flipping Gobert for multiple top-tier assets.
Again, you only consider it if it's an offer you can't pass up. That being said, as long as they rebuild (semi or complete), I can live with it. I just believe we are now in a position where swinging for the fences is likely our best/possibly only shot at getting that championship.
