Jae Crowder

It's not about doing favors. Ainge has a dilemma. He has to dump Bradley, Smart, or Crowder onto one of the few teams with cap space (or who can create it) so he doesn't take salary back. Bradley (UFA) and Smart (RFA) are tougher because it's hard to believe anybody will offer a first for a guy they have to pay handsomely after next season. Crowder has more value, but finding a 1st for him is still an uphill battle, especially when everyone knows that they're desperate to unload.

I'd say the chances are still better than 50/50 he finds a taker that isn't us, but the window is quickly closing. If he can't get that deal, then the S&T might be the lesser of evils from his bargaining position.

Why are other posters being so dumb about this? We hold the bargaining chips not the Celts. To top it off, I bet Crowder would prefer to go to the Jazz over other teams since his father played here and also because he is angry over Hayward acquisition and he will relish playing against him when the Jazz who are also anxious to face him play the Celts.

How do the Jazz hold the bargaining chips. There are other teams that would be interested in what the C's have to trade. However, the Jazz are in the unique position where they can get a lot more back for whatever they send out for Crowder due to a S&T trade with Hayward, which will provide the Jazz with a $24M trade exception that we can use to get another asset. The question is if Ainge will give up Crowder for a reasonable amount under the circumstances.

I just want Ainge to hurry up and make up his damn mind. He has to have a decent amount of offers on the board.

That's why he isn't, he can wait to see if anyone blinks, might get something extra thrown on the table for being patient. Ruthless *******.

Why dont we just sign Ilyasova? He can play decent 3 and stretch four. Not great but adds some flexibility.

Celtics traded Avery Bradley to Detroit so no need to trade Crowder now. With Bradley KCP likely not being picked up by pistons. I wonder if Utah goes hard after him.

I would like him if it's a cheap deal. I don't think he can play the 3 but he would be a solid 10 to 15 minute backup at the 4.
