Utah Interested in Signing Eric Griffin

Do the Jazz have an advantage in signing him since he is in their summer league roster? I'm guessing not but maybe there is something I don't know about.

Even if not this is where being known as a great team for developing players gets you an advantage. An agent of a young player should push his client towards the Jazz.

Assuming it's for the new dual contact slot I think it would be a good signing.

Makes sense. He's looked good in SL.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jazz signed him and that was all that they did for the rest of the offseason. I'm feeling like they will sign Griffin, opt in to Diaw and Neto and that will be it. After Haywood left I thought DL would take a minute to reexamine his plans and then patiently wait for the right move to present itself before acting. But it doesn't seem like it now. It's been a week and things are dead silent. Not even a whisper of anything.

There is no monetary advantage. I guess there is an advantage if he likes the coaching staff.

He wants to do Vivint endorsements.

I liked him in SL, he wouldn't be a bad 3rd/fringe 2nd team option, but, yeah not if we have to give him the contract right now

Maybe. Or do they sign him to a regular roster spot. Utah has a couple open.
FYI...The 2-way players are limited to 45 days on the NBA roster. They can make a maximum of $275,000. Minimum is $75,000.

I dont think you give Eric Griffin a two-way contract. You would want him on the team, not to long-term develop him.

Wasn't thinking it would be a 2-way. Doubt he'd cancel his foreign contract for just $75K guaranteed. Jazz would probably use some of the MLE for him, I imagine. Maybe a 1+1 contract?

What? No. Lmao

You'd probably give him the same contract Bolomboy got. Guaranteed for the first year at minimum w/ 2nd and 3rd years partially guaranteed

Edit, my bad when I first read I just saw mle and thought you meant entire mle.
