Who says No?

Rubio hasn't looked much better then Flynn :)

Well, the thinking is that he will be a better NBA player than his numbers show in Europe. There are the Steve Nash (but not as good a shooter) comparisions that are bandied. Certainly he would be a risk. But Rubio, Hayward, Johnson, Favors, and Jefferson could be a great lineup in a couple of years.

That would be an AMAZING lineup. And if we could get the rights to Rubio, and Johnson, while taking the contract of Darko on. I'd pull that trigger. But, I don't really see them giving him up that easy. Might ask for more.

Trade Idea;

Minny calls up Utah and offers them; Flynn, Wesley Johnson, Darko, for Okur, the 12th pick & our G.S. pick next year.

The Jazz say no. This season, Flynn looked like a guy who might not be in the league after his rookie contract is up. Wesley Johnson was a somewhat unimpressive 23 year old rookie who failed to make any in-season improvements. Darko is Darko.

In a way, Flynn and Johnson almost represent the worst case scenarios for those draft picks and I'd rather roll the dice than accept the known negatives of those two.

KEK thought about it because he was a big Wesley Johnson fanboy, but the ship sailed on that one. He's a virtual guarantee to be a bust at the fourth pick given his age and production level.

And if they wouldn't bite on that trade for Rubio. What I might be more intrigued with, would be Luke Ridhour, Wesley Johnson for Raja Bell and our 6th pick. Plus rights, to our other Euro player, we have rights to. Not Tomic.

Ridhour would be a perfect backup for Harris

I'm still holding out hope. He started off the year very well and then tumbled into a downward spiral in 2011.

Yeah, and he turns 24 in July. As crazy as it sounds, he's only about 8 months younger than CJ Miles.

Wow, I thought he might be 20. I don't really watch much college ball. He did have some games were he showed some serious potential though

Whats the point in these trade ideas? they arent going to happen. then again... whats the point in this board?

Wesley didn't look good his first month either.

His October shooting numbers: 36.7% FG, 20.0% 3PFG, 70% FT

His November shooting numbers: 42.4% FG, 37.5% 3PFG, 60% FT

Compare to season long-numbers: 39.7% FG, 35.6% 3PFG, 69.6% FT

Not exactly blowing the doors off. He had a nice stretch of about 7 games in December but his numbers the rest of the seaon look almost exactly like the October and November guy and he doesn't do enough of anything else to justify keeping him on the floor. The free throw percentage is particularly troubling as for players under 6'10" or so (i.e. not primarily post players) that's frequently an indicator of how mechanically solid a player's shot is. Johnson's 69.6% is very Ronnie Brewer-esque (69.9% FT for his career). Although, to be honest, I was surprised by that given that there's no reason he should have suddenly lost 8points off his free throw percentage from college. Somehow he did it though.

Flynn would be a great speedy little backup. Johnson has a 7 ft 1 wingspan, and Darko would be a great backup. Plus there hasn't been a new thread in a day or to.

Tough call, i like Flynn but I love Watson as our back up PG. He is better than Flynn IMO and is cheaper. He also provides veteran leadership. Wesley Johnson would be awesome to get and Darko would be a good back up but we would have his contract for 3 more years. Getting rid of Okur's contract would be nice but losing 2 lottery picks in the deal? I probably wouldn't do it. Plus, this deal would probably include Bell since Bell was offered for Flynn during the deadline
