The perfect draft trade.

Minnesota is supposedly about to sign Rubio, they are also stacked at bigs and sf. So if they get one of the top 2 picks. Then we trade them the 6 and 12th pick for the 1 or 2. This way we can get either Williams or Irving.

Basically just doing the Portland trade that landed us Dwill.

This team just went 17-65, I hestitate to make the claim that they are "stacked" anywhere.

Why would they do this trade? If the issue is that they have too many bodies then why would they take two picks for one? If the popular perception is that the draft class is weak (which was not the perception in the DWill draft where the Blazers really liked Martell Webster) what is their incentive to move down?

And as a random aside: putting Rubio in the triangle is going to be a disaster.

I just had that same idea, after reading hoopsworld.com And I think its a great idea. If and only if Dwill can play at the 3. I don't want anymore undersized pf on the Jazz

Yea the Jazz would have to assume he can play the 3.

Harris
Hayward
Williams
Favors
Jefferson

That would be a big and sweet starting 5.

or if they do draft Dwill the 2nd. I would offer them our 12th pick and Memo for Beasley/Darko. Just hope they bite. But thats only if he plays sf. But he would be a great scoring option off the bench

Except for the fact that Irving won't be as good as Deron. In fairness, Irving's pretty darn good and I never thought Deron would be as good as he became - but I get the impression the Jazz will be content entering next season with Devin Harris at PG. Maybe some do think this is the "perfect draft trade," but I expect the Jazz to use both their first-round picks on players.

1) It's hard to be as good or better than Deron
2) He has a decent chance of being comparable or even better.

We could still get Williams.

Yea, because trading up in the lottery is such an insane and laughable idea.

You only trade DOWN if you think a lower ranked player around the league is going to project better than where he is. Only thing available at six will likely be a PG or foreign player. You trade the number one, a PG, for that? It doesn't fit your ridiculous notion of Minnesota being "stacked" at PG and SF, since that's who they'd draft at 6 anyway. And Williams and Irving are going to provide much more short term and likely long term than whatever they'd get at six.

You draft the best player regardless of position. You don't trade out of it solely because you believe you have good players at that position.

I don't how they can sell trading a top 2 pick(if it ends up being there) to their fans for 2 lesser picks in a weak draft.

Dear Minnesota,

Since you are bursting with talent at the 1 and 3, there is no need for you to draft any more good players so take this pupu platter of #'s 6 and 12 in the worst draft in memory so we can have a good player. Thanks. If that doesn't work, will you take CJ Miles and Raja Bell and the #12 for Kevin Love?

Sincerely,

This.

Minnesota has Ricky Rubio and Flynn, Wesley Johnson and Beasley. I would bet money if they have a top two pick that they don't draft Irving or Williams. Or they trade the players or the pick.
