The perfect draft trade.

Minnesota has Ricky Rubio and Flynn, Wesley Johnson and Beasley. I would bet money if they have a top two pick that they don't draft Irving or Williams. Or they trade the players or the pick.

Constructing an argument that a 17-65 team is "stacked" at certain positions because of Jonny Flynn and Wesley Johnson should be grounds for instant mockery.

Then again this is David Kahn we're talking about. So I guess anything is possible.

But at a minimum hold your horses until after the lottery so we know who and what we're really working with.

1) It's hard to be as good or better than Deron
2) He has a decent chance of being comparable or even better.

Jazz don't need a point as good as Deron Williams to win a championship. Hell, they don't even need a point as good as Devin Harris. They need big damn bodies that can bang in the paint and rebound. And quick perimeter defenders. DWill didn't win us **** in the end.

You are correct, Flynn and Johnson is not stacked, but add Rubio and Beasley and that is enough depth at those positions.

Let's see. Choice. Hmmm... A guy who pretty much sucked his rookie year and a guy who was the offensive focus of a 17 win team. Add in a second year guy who disappeared, and a kid who regressed in Euroleague. Seems like a lot of depth to me.

I'll take Rubio and Johnson anyday.

1) Go on a quest to find a current or future Kobe Jordan and/or Hakeem Duncan (note: Kobe's hardly Kobe anymore, same story with Duncan)
2) Get back to us on what you find. I think I speak for everyone when I say we'll all be very surprised if you don't find anyone by those parameters that is available.

Glad you agree with David Kahn's strategy.

So this thread is just confirming the notion of "do whatever Beantown says, but in reverse."

Of course, with him having this knowledge, he'll just type the opposite of what he thinks is right, so it then becomes, "Don't listen to anything Beantown says," which is kind of what any smart person does anyway.

Are people really arguing that Johnson and Rubio aren't high value players?

Johnson had a good rookie year at 9 points s game and has alot of promise.

Rubio is a top three pick if not the number one in this years draft.

Wesley Johnson was one of the most disappointing rookies in the NBA. He's also one of the oldest rookies in the league.

Obviously you're not following overseas development. Rubio has not been wowing people in Euroleague.

For example, his 2010-2011 Euroleague stats were:

22.7 mpg, 6.5 ppg, 3.5 apg, 3.3 rpg, 1.6 spg 31.0% FG, 22.4% 3PFG.

Those shooting numbers are just brutal.

The assists, rebounds and steals are decent. But those shooting #'s make them almost completely irrelevant.

Holy **** those shooting numbers are awful.
