Closest thing to proving ghosts are real?

My wife and I just watched this episode of Catfish on MTV (go ahead and laugh) from a recommendation of a friend. This has to be one of the craziest things I have ever seen. I believe in an afterlife but the subject matter of this episode I wouldn't say I'm a believer in. If this is all acting or fake they should all win an Oscar.

It's a must watch: [video]https://www.hulu.com/watch/938606#i0,p6,s5,d0

In folklore, a ghost (sometimes known as an apparition, haunt, phantom, poltergeist, shade, specter or spectre, spirit, spook, and wraith) is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear to the living. Descriptions of ghosts vary widely from an invisible presence to translucent or barely visible wispy shapes, to realistic, lifelike visions. The deliberate attempt to contact the spirit of a deceased person is known as necromancy, or in spiritism as a séance.

The belief in the existence of an afterlife, as well as manifestations of the spirits of the dead is widespread, dating back to animism or ancestor worship in pre-literate cultures. Certain religious practices—funeral rites, exorcisms, and some practices of spiritualism and ritual magic—are specifically designed to rest the spirits of the dead. Ghosts are generally described as solitary, human-like essences, though stories of ghostly armies and the ghosts of animals rather than humans have also been recounted.[2][3] They are believed to haunt particular locations, objects, or people they were associated with in life.

The overwhelming consensus of mainstream science is that ghosts do not exist.[4] Their existence is impossible to falsify,[4] and ghost hunting has been classified as pseudoscience.[5][6][7] Despite centuries of investigation, there is no scientific evidence that any location is inhabited by spirits of the dead.[5][8]

And I cannot believe I spent 5 minutes looking any of that up. What a ridiculous thread.

I thought you said Catfish specifically was staged/fake. I just don't think all these retards are that great of actors.

Everything on TV is staged and/or outright fake. What makes you think that one show, on MTV of all things known for being the fakest channel on TV, would be spot on accurate while literally every other "reality" show is scripted to at least some degree. What gets more views and threads on sports message boards: ghosts are real and here is the proof!!1 OMGZZZ or hey this happened and it kind of boring but it is what actually happened. Of course it is spin and staging and editing.

Casper already proved ghosts existed. Unless he's an Oscar winning actor and is just pretending to be a ghost. Which I highly doubt.

Anyone remember how authentic Shaggy's fear was on Scooby-Doo upon seeing a ghost?

They had to be real.

a timeless subject, destined to be revisited afresh with every living soul, in every rising culture?

Of course people have an existence after this mortal life, why else would anyone care about anything.

Not believing in an after life makes you care more about this existence, not less.
