Hinrich would be good. The funny thing is Harris would be perfect for them.

Ball-dominant and not a great shooter? When I think of Jackson PGs, I don't think of lane crasher that need the ball in their hands to be effective and/or mediocre defender.

Harris is a good defender on any team that has an actual system. Offensively, the Lakers are in desperate need of a lane crashing PG now that Kobe can't get to the rim as much. The evolution of their Triangle is going to be a speedy point who can take on some of that burden Kobe used to shoulder alone.

Maybe if they get back to getting starters that can hit 3s. If they have Harris at the point, that leaves them with one player than can shoot worth a damn and that's precisely the reason they could wreak havoc on the Jazz offense in the AK/Brewer era.

So let me get this straight, everyone's dying to get rid of Millsap - one of the most productive players on the team and by far the most efficient and consistent (really not close at all) - because he's labeled a tweener, and most people here would draft a tweener with the #1 pick?

Amen to this. We already have a clone of Williams in Millsap. Why in the world would you draft a six foot six Power Forward? Charles Barkley will NEVER happen again. The NBA is too big for that. Look at Memphis, LA, Dallas, Boston and any other top team in the NBA. NONE of them have a six foot six starting PF (which is what Millsap or Williams are/will be). NONE. Williams and Millsap do not make a championship team.

I would take Williams unless we can get an impressive enough established star via trade. I am confident that Williams will be an excellent small forward in the NBA and could easily see him as a fringe all-star in 3 years (maybe 18-20 points, 4 boards, 2 assists and a steal per game while playing above average defense). However, Irving I see a wider range of risk. He could be a Chris Paul or a role player that just can't quite get over that hump.

Jimmer.

Or both Morris twins.

Or some euro (and bring him in sometime in the future).

Or we should draft some Kardashian.

For the people clamboring for KOC to shop the #1 pick, I just don't see that happening, unless you're talking about trading it for a future #1 (no restrictions) + a filler (Wes Johnson? Varejao?) - no thanks. Ray Allen to Boston for the #5 pick (Jeff Green) is the only example of a team trading away a star for top draft pick that I can remember, and Seattle only did it because they thought Allen's best years were behind him (boy were they wrong) and they wanted to accelerate the rebuilding process. The beauty of draft picks is that they are relatively cheap. John Wall is getting paid between $5MM - $6MM for his first 3-4 years. So the question you have to ask yourself is do you want to have a Irving, Williams or Kanter at $4-$6 MM for 3-4 years or do you want a Marc Gasol that will most likely be getting $11MM-$13MM for 5 years? Granted a lot of this can change with the new upcoming CBA; however, I would be very surprised if drastic changes are made to the rookie scale. Maybe KOC can figure something out, but if we get the #1 pick I would start saving up for your Irving jerseys.

How can we be so sure O'Connor even wants Irving? Wasn't Chris Paul (Irving) almost unanimously considered the higher pick, but O'Connor went with the bigger Williams (Knight)?

I wasn't necessarily saying that it's a lock that O'Connor has Irving #1 on his board (I merely used Irving as he is the consensus #1 pick as of right now by most "experts), but my main point was that if we get the #1 pick, KOC will use it on whoever he has as his #1.
