I honestly think OL's team could sweep this thing.

Cy is starting Johnson against Davis... Give me a break.

James Johnson was one of the top rated defensive PF's this year though...

He is the closest thing to Draymond Green currently.

Johnson can guard nearly every position on the floor and has been drawing tougher assignments on the defensive end since Winslow, Miami’s defensive savant, went down with a torn labrum. Johnson is an excellent isolation defender, as opponents shoot 5.2 percent worse with him as the primary defender, per NBA.com's defensive tracking. Among players who average 27 minutes per game or less (right at Johnson's average), he's sixth in the league in defensive win shares, and that same number among all players ranks higher than starters like Jae Crowder, Marc Gasol and Paul George.

Perhaps the best illustration of Johnson's defensive tenacity and versatility came against the Pelicans earlier this season when Johnson (6-9, 250 pounds) refused to let DeMarcus Cousins (6-11, 270 pounds) catch the ball in the post, leading to a shot-clock violation.

It's not just James Johnson's facilitating that has led to his breakout for the Miami Heat. Head coach Erik Spoelstra also understands how to deploy him on defense, allowing him to make use of his frenetic energy reserves by switching on picks and straying far from his off-ball assignments to contest extra shots.

His versatility helps, as he has the speed necessary to stick with quicker opponents and the requisite strength to bang around with bigger players in the post. Coupled with an innate understanding of the schemes, that's allowed him to become a one-size-fits-all defender in South Beach.

But Johnson still has one ability that stands out above all the rest. Attacking him in isolation is a terrible, terrible idea.

"JJ is No. 1 in the NBA in iso defense," Hassan Whiteside explained to Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post. "Why does nobody know that? He's the best iso defender, go look it up. You all like numbers, so he should be a first-team All-Defensive guy to me. Nobody talks about it. We have a ton of guys that's just amazing defenders. I just used him because he's No. 1 in the NBA. A lot of people would be like Kawhi Leonard or Draymond [Green]. No, James Johnson is No. 1."

We did look it up.

Johnson is allowing opponents to score just 0.4 points per possession in isolation, which leaves him in the 98.6 percentile throughout the league. But among the 220 players who have faced at least 30 relevant possessions, no one ranks higher.

S***

I dont see how that circumvents the profanity filter.

That could be stew, soap, sack, etc. A large number of words.

People say **** on this board all the time.

This is crazy.
Stoked, colton, Jason, I would like an explanation.

A few things.

It wasn't One Love but I will not reveal who it was.

You are right JustTheTip, people do swear on here all the time. Usually they choose to do so without circumventing the profanity filter. So there usually isn't a problem.

I also find Saint Cy of JFC's defense of "That could be stew, soap, sack, etc. A large number of words." to be less than compelling given the context of the sentence. Also if he wants to present it in such a way that leads people to believe he got a full infraction that's fine, but it isn't true. I issued the warning and did so privately with a message asking him to please change it. But he clearly wants this public so that's fine. Please change your Sig Cy. You still have not done so in a way that doe snot circumvent the filter. Also this was not the original sig.

Look guys, you can think it is a stupid rule. No harm no foul, whatever. There are some rules I don't really care for. But they are the rules and we all agreed to them when we joined the site. Even the stupid ones.

So I will repeat something I have said numerous times before. If there is a rule that you think needs to be made, removed or modified then go to the Site Info forum and make a post about it. Present a decent argument and the mods will review it. We've made adjustments before.

OK, that's enough of that lame crap for today (hopefully). I already need a Johnny Black on the rocks.

The word has not been circumvented. A letter was posted, a word was not. Surely you can tell the difference.

This is how it has always been enforced. At least since I have been here. This is not something new, Cy was not singled out. Also that was not the original sig. The original sig had only 1 letter starred out. You also have to take the context of the sentence into consideration for his sig now. He is clearly swearing and doing so in a way that circumvents the filter. How he tries to circumvent it is irrelevant IMO.

Again, if Saint Cy of JFC feels this is unfair or otherwise wrong I invite him to explain why. I'm always open to giving things a second look and hearing someone out.

Edit: Please send me anything else via PM so we can let this thread get back to the original intent.

Isnt any time we write **** obvious we are cursing? If we werent cursing, why would it correct to asterisks?

Because of the filter. When you put part of the word and then * the rest of it yourself you are circumventing the filter.

A well known rule.

Please change your sig.
