Liberty is a lot more than not paying too much in taxes. I'd still actively call myself a libertarian if it wasn't infested with people who just don't want to pay taxes.

the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

the power or scope to act as one pleases.
"individuals should enjoy the liberty to pursue their own interests and preferences"

I do not mind paying taxes. My concerns revolve around 3 things.

1) Collect it equitably across the spectrum of income.
2) Reduce or eliminate loopholes and deductions for various esoteric things. Make the deductions make sense instead of fit special interests, and make it a standard "income" tax, regardless of the source of income. Also tax businesses in a way that makes sense (tax on profit or revenue and eliminate payroll taxes, which in essence is double-taxation)
3) How the taxes are used. Eliminate pet projects, pork, and ridiculous allocation. Fund social systems including health-care, medicare/medicaid, and social security. Fund infrastructure and other projects that benefit society as a whole.

lol, good luck with that one.

How about the liberty to cross borders? The liberty to live in a city without having to produce your papers to some stooge.

No, people usually only want liberty to be used how they think it should be used.

Dutch doesn't have time for that. He knows better

And most of them focus on taxes. Liberty from taxes.
