Wecome to Colton's Mock Draft Compilation, v. 2.0. I'll try to update this every few days. Here are who the mock drafts are listing as the "best players". See below for details. It should give a pretty good idea of who will be available when the Jazz pick.

Kyrie Irving (formerly 1)
Derrick Williams (2)
Enes Kanter (3)
Jonas Valanciunas (7)
Kemba Walker (5)
Brandon Knight (6)
Jan Vesely (4)
Bismack Biyombo (8)
Alec Burks (9)
Donatas Motiejunas (10)
Kawhi Leonard (11)
Jordan Hamilton (12)
Jimmer Fredette (15)
Marcus Morris (14)
Tristan Thompson (12)
Markieff Morris (16)
Chris Singleton (17)
Kenneth Faried (19)
Tobias Harris (18)
Klay Thompson (20)
Trey Thompkins (22)
Tyler Honeycutt (21)
Nolan Smith (25)
Reggie Jackson (23)
Nikola Mirotic (27)
Darius Morris (26)
Lucas Noquiera (unranked)
Jordan Williams (24)
Kyle Singler (29)
JaJuan Johnson (28)

Ranking details: I used the following 17 mock drafts as "voters" for the best players. That is, I assumed they ranked the players in the order that they felt like the players deserved to be drafted. (This is an incorrect assumption, because some mock drafts account for perceived team need, but it should be close.) Then I used the "instant run-off voting" algorithm in a program I wrote to deduce who deserved to be ranked in the top spot, then in the second spot, then in the third spot, and so forth. See here for details on that algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

changes from version 1:
I added two mock drafts, and removed one that looked like it wasn't going to be updated.

Mock Draft Mania is retarded and they should be embarrassed. They said we should take Knight b/c we need a point guard behind Deron Williams!

I thought it was interesting to compare directly with Drafttec, which you included with the overall draft site comparisons. Draftec puts team needs into a computer program to determine players some teams might reach for to fill specific team needs, and they list + or - on where the players should go in the draft. Example: Brandon Knight they think should go at pick 4 but they have him going at 13, so it is a -9. It was interesting to compare where they think players should be picked compared to your list from many drafts. They have us reaching 2 slots for Alex Burks at pick 6 (ranked 8th so a -2) and reaching 7 slots to get Chris Singleton with our 12th pick (ranked 19th so a -7). I just think some teams will pick on needs rather than best player available. How would you feel about Burks and Singleton as our 2 picks?

For those unfamiliar with Drafttek's computer model, DRAFTSIM was developed for the NFL draft about 7 years ago. The model identifies the draft needs at each position for all 32 teams, then matches needs up against the pool of available players. The concept of "Reach" and "Value" are central - teams with a major need at a certain position will reach farther, perhaps selecting a player in the first round who, by all accounts does not rate a 1st round grade. In 2009, the DRAFTSIM model was retooled for NBA draft usage.
