Dante Exum: shoulder injury

Sucks how Dante was injured in such a pointless way. But I wonder if Warren would have jumped like that if the layup was actually decent and looked like it was going in.

"Basically, at the very bottom of life, which seduces us all, there is only absurdity, and more absurdity. And maybe that's what gives us our joy for living, because the only thing that can defeat absurdity is lucidity"

-Albert Camus, obviously a Utah Jazz fan

At the end of the day it sucks for Dante but it may be blessing in disguise for the Jazz. If they still see Dante as part of the team in the future they will secure him long term for cheap. Nobody will invest huge money in a backup PG who missed 2 ( if reports are true ) from 4 seasons and in even in those 2 seasons he was quite mediocre. If Rubio plays well and develops great chemistry with Gobert Jazz risk nothing by letting Dante go.
Certainly not the end of the world like some of you are painting it here.

Definitely not the end of the world going forward. That said, we did tank an entire season to get a high pick in the 2014 draft but got 2 injured seasons and 2 mediocre seasons. Kinda sucks. Oh well, hopefully Dante can come back fully healed next year.

That's your take, but some guys seems to absorb contact better, and I think the more athletic guys are more prone to injury because of their athleticism. The Suns were being too physical, you're right, but who is their coach, the bulldog Earl Watson who was a very physical player.
"Absorbing contact?" That's when someone bumps or pushes you or sets a hard pick. You don't absorb contact if a guy jumps on your head. That''s like saying Paul George didn't absorb contact when his leg hit the standard. Or when Len elbowed Hill and his teeth went through his lip.

The play didn't even look bad to me. Then I figured he must have just landed wrong. Probably miss 2-6 weeks. Now I hear all season?

Just freaky.

It's a bummer the Penny Haradway comps where accurate, but just not in the way we wanted them to be.

I'm guess the injury must have happend with how he landed. If you watch, he sticks his left arm out to break his fall. The force pushing up on the ground and TJ's body weight coming down must have put a lot of pressure on his shoulder, I'm guessing, more so than if he just fell without trying to break the fall.

Kid can’t catch a break. I feel bad for him. He wants to prove himself but every season has a setback.
