What's new

Go get Bledsoe?

I'm not sure I do it from a team chemistry stand point at this very moment. Certainly you trade to make a team better, but we haven't even had ten games post-Hayward and the Jazz are already looking more than adequate. I can respect a guy wanting to be trading. Players are humans with their own wants and needs. But I think someone who opens it up willingly like that (probably in the heat of the moment as well) in such a public way? I have to wonder if dude would want to be here. Right now, our roster is full of guys that like it here and are apparently happy. Never underestimate what a good esprit de corps has on a team. I want to see what really happens before potentially disrupting any flow we have.

It's a no... maybe before Ricky but not a big enough need to justify the cost. Someone will give them a first rounder for him.

I'm happy to rode with what we jave for now. It's working.

If he was free I'd like to have him, think he can be a good player on a different team. But am not willing to give anything up for him, so it's a no go for me.

can see blesco to bucks for brogdon or sth like that. or new york for some scrubs

Huh? Expecting a player/human to keep his displeasure in house while his current team seeks a trade is a more than reasonable request.

Weird, looks like he already did do that.

Eric Bledsoe Met With Suns About Potential Trade Before Season
OCT 23, 2017 12:10 PM

Eric Bledsoe met with the Phoenix Suns about a potential trade before the start of the season.

Bledsoe was the subject of trade rumors over the offseason, particularly involving Kyrie Irving.

The Suns are in a full rebuild while Bledsoe doesn't match their timeline at the age of 27. Bledsoe is signed through the 18-19 season.

Well since it's not up to me I do wonder if DL a made a call. Sounds like the Sun's are in discussion with multiple teams according to woj.

I'm sure DL made a call, but I'm not sure what he'd be willing to give up. I'd be shocked if the Jazz ended up being the high bidder.

I dont really see him as a need for this team or a great fit. He is a solid player and a good defender. He could play alongside Rubio at times. But one of them would have to defend SGs and that would lessen their defensive prowess. Offensively they would be okay together.

His salary is 14.5 this year and 15 next. So we would have to send out a big contract. The only players that we could trade for him are Favors or Burks. I guess Rubio or Gobert would work but I doubt we are trading those guys. Neither Burks or Favors makes sense for the Suns and I would not trade Favors for him. I guess if they would take Burks straight up for Bledsoe I would do that trade. Realistically it would have to be a three team trade though. Frankly the Jazz are in need of a reliable scoring 2/3 or even a 4 more than PG though.

Overall I dont think the Jazz should or will go after him. They might be interested in being the 3rd team in a trade though.

I think you always make a call and it may not be about Bledsoe... there may be a potential three team deal where something comes up... I'd always try to be around the action to see what is happening.

There are pieces in Denver that would make sense for us but not Phoenix... maybe we try to get one of those but a straight two team deal there is nothing we'd want to do.

When you tank, the idea is to give young guys reps and generally increase their NBA knowledge and basketball IQ. Watson has shown an incapacity to actually coah those things as he has no offensive schemes nor defensive strategies. Tanking doesn't matter if the players don't improve under your tutelage. It was the correct decision.

This coming from a guy who likes Earl Watson. He needs to be an assistant coach.

Nah, I get that they need a coach that's better at player development. But they already knew that. Instead, they wait until the team loses their first 3 games, and then fire him as if he's the reason. That's just a move to appease casual ticket buying fans who think the team is trying to win this year.

Anyway, I don't really care too much, I just think it's a lousy way to run a team to fire a coach 3 games into a season where everybody with any sense knows it wasn't about winning anyway.

It's not like these first 3 games their GM suddenly realized Earl wasn't ideal for player development. They already knew, but needed somebody to throw under the bus for the fans who thought they might win this year.
