Last year, we finished 4th in team defensive efficiency behind the Warriors, Spurs and Hawks, with a 1.029 rating. The Warriors were best at 1.009.
The Spurs were the best the year prior at .964. We were 1.006 that season, good for fifth in team defensive efficiency.
The year before that, 2014-2015, the Dubs were best at .980.
This season we are currently just 8th in defensive efficiency but sit at .971. That's elite. And it's elite despite having played what should be an offensive juggernaut in Denver, the Big Three in OKC, and Minnesota who has plenty of big time scorers.
My hope is that, by the end of this easy stretch (21 games in), our defensive efficiency is at a mind-boggling .950, a number that would be far superior to any best defensive team in recent memory.
So yeah, let's ****ing go.
