Last Restaurant You Ate At?

20171027_194209_zpsthhse05r.jpg

At at a place called Porter's in Springdale - just outside of Zion this weekend. The food was pretty below average, tbh. Would not eat again.

San Telmo's last night, started with a couple of decent cocktails, I had an agreeable gin sour and my date an espresso martini to a look of disdain from me. We then had Chorizo and pork jowls with crackling as an entree, I'm not a massive fan of Chorizo but it was quite good, the pork and jowls and crackling was different and damn tasty. We washed it down with a bottle of Argentinian red and then shared the rib eye and flank steak, cooked perfectly with carrots and lettuce on the side.

Wasn't too bad a feed but at 300 bucks for the two of us probably a touch expensive. Damn good feed tho, I will be back.

I love steak, but rarely order it at a restaurant, If I'm dropping a bunch of money on a meal it'll be for something I can't just as easily make at home.

I agree with this. I'm an amateur and very good cook in my own opinion and in the opinions of anyone who eats my foods. teh steak is not difficult to do well and in a variety of ways. Food that is difficult or extremely time consuming to make at home is what I look for in going out and I might even be willing to pay a premium for it. Hamburgers are included in that list for me, which is weird.

I suck at cooking hamburgers. So simple yet I've never been happy with any that I've ever made so it's not something I make at home.

Watch YouTube how to videos and your cooking will improve tenfold. There are some great burger ones on there.

I'm generally a pretty good cook, just never been happy with my hamburger patties.

I ate at Olive Garden Saturday so I could have the pumpkin cheesecake. I'm high class all the way!

I got really mad at my coworkers for voting for Olive Garden for the annual employee appreciation dinner ********. Needless to say, I didn't go.

I like Olive Garden fine, but obviously it is not fine dining. But then I'm not able to afford your $100 dinners. :D

The pumpkin cheesecake though . . . yum.

My wife dragged me to Winger's Saturday. I was reminded why I don't got there. It's right up her alley, but I can't stand that place. Next time it's my turn to pick. Smoke 'N' Bones baby!

I haven't been to Winger's in years, but I have eaten there more often that I would have liked. It was a favorite with an old bunch of friends. I moved on.

I made hot wings for the first time in my life last night. They were good.

I think Wing Coop has the best wings in SLC area. Although I go to trolley wings more often because my friends like it and they do vegan and vegetarian wings.
