What's new

That DonovaMitch!

What that play did for us was amazing. Getting national love! Getting more eyes on DM and the team.

Basketball should be fun, and exhilarating. DM, Rubio, Robert are giving that too us.

Mitchell is the number 3 trending player on draftexpress right now. The Utah Jazz or players never trend on there so that's cool.

Thats why the dunk meant something more for us Jazz fans. Yes it was a little over hyped, but wasn't isn't in the NBA?

The "play of the year" comment was a bit much. I think more accurate was that was the play of the year for the Jazz (possibly), and for the day or week in the NBA.

Regardless its nice to have some street cred with my friends who are always wondering. "the jazz"?..... "why do you like them"?

I officially declare DM's dunk, dunk of the year!! Hell dunk of the Century!! Wait um, I mean dunk of the ages.

Thread closed. Lock this bitch up!!

On reddit a guy that watched the game in the arena says he's not seen such a strong physical reaction to any play on the court ever. I wonder if there is any video of this taken from the stands?

Ah yes, YouTube comments. A never-ending source of wisdom if there ever was one.

Some of the comments from YouTube are the most hilarious, witty, detailed, observant things online. Of course there are some really bad ones too. You can make fun of me as much as you'd like, dude. It still doesn't change the fact that my comment about Mitchell's dunk (or the youtube comment saying it was a nice putback but not amazing for NBA play of the year and liked 160 plus times) isn't something to be hyper-sensitive about. I thought it was a great dunk, but certainly not dunk or play of the year. I agree with what Rev saying it could very well be the Jazz's play of the year for sure. That game and dunk was a greatly needed confidence booster for Mitchell and some of the Jazz's fan base. I hope to see many more to come.

I wouldn't mind seeing it too. I remember being on like the 13th row and watching Burks throw down on the Suns a few years ago. It was possibly the best in game dunk I've ever seen live. The crowd went wild and everyone was giving eachother high five.

You can see me in the background stand right before Burks took off for flight school. I saw it from a mile away.

What made that dunk so amazing was not so much how great a dunk it was, but it's timing. At that point, momentum was in favor of the Lakers and it looked like they were going to overtake the Jazz. That play turned the game around for the Jazz. These are the kinds of plays that made MJ so great, coming through in the clutch.

This is the problem with Jazzfanz. If you give your two-cents, you're ridiculed and insulted by haters that only want to read their perspective.

You say it was a great play but why do you have to add, "but certainly not dunk or play of the year." That is so negative. Who ever said it was play of the year -- yeah, someone did say it was dunk of the year, but why try to temper the guy's enthusiasm. That's like a woman telling a guy who just said he loved her not to be so sure because another woman might come along that he'd like better. It may be true but it sure is deflating.

Plus AM says the problem with JFZ are the haters, yet he is the one who negged me. Bish.

Because I disgree with that statement. I don't think there's anything wrong in saying that on a discussion forum. If you disagree, that's fine, but why the insults?

If someone is going to sit there and tell me that an arm fully extended put-back dunk like that from a six foot three player is unremarkable, then they are a moron. That type of dunk is top shelf for Rudy, let alone a small. The fact it was over the two Laker "phenom" rooks is even more hype worthy. It's OK if you don't understand the NBA. Just don't lecture those who do.

Because you have started this negative rant about Mitchell. And you continue on with it incessantly and it pisses off people. In essence it’s an insult to everyone who is high on the guy.

Who said it was unremarkable?

This is the other problem with Jazzfanz. People don't read what you write, or take a lil bit of what you said, twist it and run with it. #fakenews

I can imagine because you are so in love with your opinion that you secretly hope the guy fails so you can tell all of us how smart you are. Grrr ...

For example, I posted a negative thread about Rubio and have gotten bashed for it. It's my opinion, but I certainly don't hope Ricky doesn't fix his turnover and dribbling issues, and he will be able to coordinate his game better with Gobert. If he does that, I will be more than happy.

Dude, I'm a Mitchell fan, a Jazz fan and I have no idea why you think I want him to fail. I've never said that at all. I've been critical of his NBA record setting poor fg% and struggling against starters, but it doesn't mean I hate him or think he'll have a bad career.
