I've been on this site since the first year it started. I like to come to get the news and hear people's opinions. I'm not here to attack people or be rude. However, because of the mean spirit of some who post here now and in the past, I have lost it on occasion, and have again, making me think, I'm sick of dealing with this and may stop posting.

The first time was with the One Brow thing. Recently, I tried to explain to Numberica what happened. Was I wrong in seeking him out? I plead guilty. What drove me to it was the constant attacks I had been receiving from people for taking the side of AK in the issues about him being frozen out by Deron. One Brow had at least two Alts -- Aint and JF2883 or some such number after the JF. The Alts were not only attacking me on the site but sending me vicious and obscene PMs. I asked Colton to see if he could verify if these Alts were actually One Brow. There were a lot of coincidences involving these Alts and One Brow, especially Aint. And when I finally identified One Brow, I simply called him at work -- he was a community college teacher -- and asked him to stop these attacks. Of course, he denied everything, but and this is important, the attacks and vicious PMs stopped immediately. I went public about this and then I got criticized and ridiculed, so I changed my Username.

Recently, I made a comment about how impressed I was with Mitchell during Summer League. Not everyone felt this way -- St. Cy is still saying because he doesn't get explosion off one foot, he won't get to the foul line. Well, Cy, it didn't seem to hurt Stockton or Nash, neither of whom had nowhere near the hops of Mitchell. In any case, that old douche bag, Archie, who seems to have more bad things than good things to say about Mitchell, has really gotten under my skin. I think he has negged me 7 times in the last week or so. How can someone neg a person so many times? I've actually kind of lost it and have started to ridicule him and call him names. It's not a good thing. It's not the way a board should be. It's supposed to be a congenial place to talk about the Jazz, not to get personal, which in most cases this reputation thing has become.

I think in the best interests of the board that you do away with Reputation for this very reason, so that mean-spirited people like Archie can't spew their ignorance on others.

I probably am taking this too seriously. It is, after all, just a message board.

I don't know anyone who deducts from people's reps more than him. He's deducted from me more times in the last week than I've been deducted since they began reputation. And he must do a lot of repping and deducting because the way it's set up you have to spread it around, so if he's deducting me 7 times in a week, he's got to be doing a lot of that. But you're right. He's also a moron.
 
Here are your options:

1. Grow a thicker skin. Altho you're in your 60s, so that ship has probably sailed.

2. Put everyone you don't like on ignore. I don't know if this solves the neg rep thing, but at least you won't see their posts.

3. Quit this forum and move to a different one (so you can keep up with news and opinions). Reddit is an such option

4. Changing your name does nothing. People still know it's you. What you need to do is close this account, and create another, without letting people know who you are.

So wait, the mean spirit exist because Archie has negged you over and over again?

You understand no one actually cares about the reputation meter anymore, right? If he is negging you over and over it's just because he probably finds it funny how strongly you react to such a meaningless gesture.

Also, if you are going to be such a ****ing baby, at least get stuff right. I never said he won't get to the FT line, I just said I have concerns over his ability to get to the FT line.

Well, it was close enough. And you know I don't agree because you don't have to play above the rim to draw fouls. You just have to be quick.

You know, Siro, I think I will stop posting because it aggravates me. Archie is too dumb to think it's funny. I don't mind the dislikes but the Rep thing is personal. It really is, unless someone is out of line or inappropriate.

Actually, I'm pretty sure every time I neg you, you're quoting me calling me dumb, mentioning me, sending me PMs insulting me, or being ultra-sensitive over a comment I make. Now, you've literally threatened me.
I spread reps a lot and give out mostly positive ones. Most of the time I simply say, You've been hehepeepeecaca'd. Your reaction to this is borderline mental, and to be honest, kind of scary.
I'm glad you reported me to the mods, but I would be shocked if they gave me an infraction because I neg you hehepeepeecaca. I'd probably be a lil proud though.
Look, apparently negging you is causing you more harm than good, so I'll just stop negging you. It means absolutely nothing other than agreeing or disagreeing with a post.

I don't mind the dislikes. That's your prerogative to disagree. But the Rep thing is taking it a step further. In fact, just as you said, you actually did deduct for personal reasons. The purpose of rep is to reward a good post or to discredit someone for an inappropriate post. I never insulted you until you started repeatedly negging me for posts that simply disagreed with you. Then the war began and ok, you're right if you negged me for using insults and name-calling in a post. But you started the negging before I did that. And like I said, you have negged me more times than all other times I've been negged since they started this Rep thing. I call that mean-spirited.

I think it's hilarious that EM thinks his problems here are because he likes or dislikes certain Jazz players. Like he's the only one who has taken that particular position and THAT is why people have reacted to him the way they have.

You have a screwy perspective on what jazzfanz.com is EM.

Can you quote me where I've been "mean spirited" towards you?

You're upset because you get **** because of your takes on jazz players, yet you lose your **** because of my Mitchell takes (even though I praise him all the time.) Dat black kettle doe.
Dude, I get negged all the time. It makes the site entertaining to me. If you're really upset to this degree by neg reps, maybe you should consider retiring from it. I left one time because I didn't like the vibe on here and wanted to spend my time in other things. At the end of the day, no one cares though.
I'm not singling you out. You are.
