What's new

So can we officially say we got the best player in a good draft?

But if the C's don't have a ball dominating star don't u think those numbers might be different. Don't think DM is playing the same role if Kyrie were in Utah.

Kyrie doesn't need a DM in Boston, he needs a Tatum to complement his game. Maybe Utah needs a DM far more than it needs a Tatum, so if you are going to be tossing around "what if's", then ask, "Would Tatum be putting up the same numbers in Utah if he and DM were switched?"

Please keep in mind that Rubio does not receive the defensive respect that Kyrie gets.

I keep seeing "D-Wade and Lillard", but I see James Harden with defense. Way too early to say but comparison wise as a homer.

I see a bit of Harden in him as well. Eventually teams will start game-planning for his ability to get to the rim and when they do we will see if he has the same drive and dish game as Harden.

We don't know the answer to that. That's why I said I can't wait for the future stars game

Just because Tatum is playing the role C's need him to doesn't mean he can't play the same role DM is. All I'm saying is that Tatum is a very talented rookie, so is DM. All I'm saying is that those are the two best rookies in this draft IMO, and it's too soon to tell

Who’s the last rookie to go for 50?

In fact, I think Iverson might be the only rookie to ever score 50. Not sure, though.

Wilt had 5 games of 50+ his rookie season. Including a now hard to imagine 58-42-4 game.

Of course, Brandon Jennings dropped 50 in his rookie season a few years ago, but it was hardly a harbinger of things to come for him.

Kareem did it, Rick Barry did it, Elvin Hayes did, and Earl the Pearl did it. All of them just once.

Other than the rookies mentioned on ESPN, a few others have scored 40+ in the last 25 years. Charlie Villanueva, Jason Richardson, Elton Brand, Kerry Kittles, Shaq, Walt Williams, and most improbably, Rodrigue Beaubois in 2010.
