Central tank command : the official thread

No reason to tank. We have our two superstars- Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. And Mitchell is gonna be everything Hayward never was... A natural alpha mentality scorer with top tier athleticism, leadership traits and class/integrity.

Now we need to start preparing to make a big run in a couple years when Donovan has developed and Rudy is still in his prime.

Mitchell needs dramatic improvements to his handle, passing, rebounding, shooting %s and getting to the FT line. Yes, it's "possible" but extremely unlikely. Like 1%. Mitchell is a stud, will be a perennial all star and lead this Jazz team. But the difference between LeBron and Mitchell is massive.
The reason I think it's possible is because I see similarities in him with Jordan in his attitude and desire to be great. In fact, he plays with more intensity than Jordan and he seems tireless, as if he's playing within himself. No, he's not as big as Jordan (in fact, he looks more like 6-2 than 6-3) but he has that ability to make spectacular plays that few others can make like Jordan. He's also a year younger than Jordan when he came to the NBA.

were back in this
Bump.
Not because anyone is trying to tank, but just because the Jazz suck.
And lest I be called a fair weather fan, I believe I posted in the "playoff bus " thread to beware of Dec, when Utah would be lucky to win 4 games.

For those wanting to tank, you may get your wish. The Jazz could easily push this losing streak to 11-12 games even if they played better than they have since Gobert returned.

Oh man I know this guys is a crazy one and now I know! This is not Jordan!!!

Did I just read Mitchell plays with more intensity than Jordan?

I think I just threw up a lil in my mouth.

30 Years ago a prophetic poster on the bulls forum dared to say Michael Jordan played with more intensity than Julius Erving and all the bulls posters told him to slow down #DMisthenewGOAT

I think it is great Karma that Justin Holiday was cut by the Jazz in training camp during the tank year and he played a major role in slaying us last night. That means the tank is full on go.

Well they have one thing in common, Jordan's teams, just like the current Jazz, were losers until he got Pippen.

So go get a Pippen DL.

Archie, you're not a very discriminating reader -- i.e., you take things out of context. I never said he is the next Jordan, just that he has a similar mindset. Look at some early Jordan and you will see, I think, less maturity than the present-day Mitchell. Jordan's drive pushed him as he matured and he became the assassin that made him so great.

I saw Pippen on sportcenter last night... he looks old and I’m pretty sure he can’t play anymore.

He didn't take it out of context. You literally said and I quote "He plays with more intensity than Jordan and he seems tireless, as if he's playing within himself." Perhaps that is not what you mean but it is clearly what you said.

You may have a point about lapses (saw some last night on defense) -- but Jordan also didn't play point guard in his youth. Watch the clips of young. His intensity developed as he matured. So, you may be right about the mature Jordan. No one plays with more intensity. You're also right about me being over-dramatic. I plead guilty.
