Unnecessary just acquire assets thread

People WAYYY overvaluing a 25 to 30 pick. . .
People are seeing Kuzma and Mitchell exploding and all draft picks are being overvalued. When it comes down to actual draft night, the mystery starts to disappear as the reality of who that magical pick will turn out being starts to set in. Picks become less valuable when you start to get disappointed with the reality of who you can actually grab. High second rounders, too. We've ended up selling ours off.

We can land another Mitchell/Gobert/Kuzma but the odds are significantly against it.

Gobert dude.. It happens
Buttler
Kuzma (lol)

But it's being used to move up a few spots in the draft. You must look at the value of a low first combined with a lottery pick. Their value would be tied..

I think the Jazz have some assets that could be used to either get draft assets or young potential players

PG

Exum is a mystery as we don't know what value he has around the league.

Rubio has an expiring next year and I could see a team looking to shorten a bad contract but other then that I do not see a lot of value in trading Rubio other then to dump his salary from the Jazz but if the Jazz are going to look at adding salary for picks then why dump his salary

Neto is not going to get anything for a 3rd PG

Burks is a dark horse because I think in another system burks might shine and another team might be willing to take a chance to get a steal. If you are looking for picks I think a mid to late first (mostly late) could do it but I think he has more value as a player for player swap. Where the Jazz bring in a position of need

Hood I think has the most value outside of Mitchell and gobert. I think a potential lotto pick could be had to a team that is just under performing that wants a different look.

Ingles contract is ok but I just don't see a contender willing to pay him for 3 more years. this is my opinion but I don't see him being moved in the next year or 2.

Sefolosha I think has some value to a contender that needs a 3 and D player and he plays tough. He could be good on a contender and I would look to get either a late pick or a young player for him.

Favors has almost as much value as Hood if arguably more. the problem I see is that he is more of a center in todays NBA and would need to play next to stretch big. I think there are some decent opportunities for trades for favors services.

JJ has a value to a team looking for bench depth come the playoff but his value is down this year because he is not playing that great. I would think his best value is used with a team looking to dump salary because he is expiring.

Jerebko is about average and I personally don't think he has a lot of value to many team.

Udoh I think has a ton of value to a team in need of defense. I personally would love to keep Udoh around to back up Gobert.

Bradley is curious because I have no idea what value he has.

That is assuming that all upcoming drafts were like the last one. They aren't. A lot of them may even be like the Kanter draft that sucked rocks. Even having a third pick in that draft wasn't ideal. Drafting from 25-30 you would be lucky to pull a Greg Ostertag. In the past you would be lucky to snatch a good Euro at that position, but that advantage is dwindling as the scouting of foreign players is becoming more advanced.

It is still mind numbing to me how we were able to move into a lottery pick last year in THAT draft, even if you imagine that we didn't shoot the moon and snatch Mitchell there. That was some serious malpractice by Denver.
