Nikola Mirotic

Favors isnt going to get Crowder lmao. Crowder is one of their only players who can guard GSW's wings besides Lebron.

Only trade I see w/ Cleveland is Jazz sending Favors to Cleveland, Cleveland sends Shumpert/Their 1st round pick to Chicago, and Utah gets Mirotic.

Locke said on his podcast yesterday that Favors has "absolutely no desire to return to Utah", because he would be mainly serving as a 5, and therefore mainly the backup to Gobert.
I think Favs is going to find limited opportunities to be a starting 4 in the league. But if that's a quote from Derrick, then it' valuable insight into DL's plans. Hope the Jazz have finally given up on trying to force a Favs/Gobert tandem. It just doesn't work.
The league has changed. And so has the Jazz offense. No longer does Utah have the PG/PF centric offense with the center just getting out of the way.

How are they playing Favors? Benching Thompson? I think they’d be much more interested in Thabo for the same reason they’d want to keep Jae.

NM following the SL Trib too. And Vladimir Putin.

Feels like too much chatter for it to happen tho.

Thompson is no longer in the Cavs plans. He has been coming from the bench already and is massively overpaid.

Agree with Cy that Favors will not bring Crowder. See the Cavs roster, he is one of their few decent wing defenders besides Lebron. They need to upgrade JR, who is complete trash now.

What would you guys trade for the Brooklyn pick? Hood?

That’s fine but Thompson’s deal is spendy and long. So now you move Crowder to the bench to start Favs or make Thompson a third stringer and risk him checking out in his expensive deal.

We don’t have anything they would trade that pick for outside of DM and Rudy.

Closest we could get is Favs, Hood, Thabo, JJ for Smith, Thompson, filler. They get off money and guys who aren’t playing well. They wouldn’t do it though... they want you Paul George or cousins if they move that pick.

I mean, TT is on the trading block so I don't think his feelings or him checking out is a big concern anymore. The big decision for them is whether Love should continue starting at C. IT is not helping their defense either.

Maybe they will be willing to move the Brooklyn pick for a solid starter (fringe star) plus a team absorbing TT's contract. Paul George is a wet dream. That pick was more valuable at the start of the season. Everyone expected it to be top 5, now is more likely to be in the top 8 or 9.

Agree that Favors, Hood and Thabo would be the more enticing players for the Cavs.

This is the moment when GMs get fleeced. A contender on a losing streak, desperate to add talent in order to keep their franchise player.

I just think TT is getting 20 minutes a night... is the upgrade of TT to Favs worth a pick when neither player works very well against GS.

The Thabo deal is low key good to me. Would help them against GS save money and if Lebron leaves you can decline his option to get off salary.

IMO, it would be a failure on the part of the FO to not move Favors before the deadline. Which is why I expect them to do it.

Favors needs to embrace the reality that he is now a 5. It's not the end of the world - the new 5 is basically like the old 4. Adapt or die, dude.

Yeah, I don't think Favors is worth a lottery pick, plus he is a rental. That's why the deal would have to be bigger in order to include picks (Hood, Thabo, absorbing a contract, etc).

Thabo would be a perfect fit for them (any team actually)

I mean, it's not hard to play a rotation of 3 bigs.

If Love gets center minutes and Crowder gets PF minutes it is hard to get Favs and TT on the floor. Not sure either guy would be happy to be playing less than 15 minutes a night... Favs in a contract year.

Maybe they play through their unhappiness. If the GS Cavs finals series were starting tomorrow and both teams are healthy, which player would you be more likely to use in the series... Thabo or Favs?

Cavs biggest issue is JR and Crowder have been really bad this year.

Probably Favors.

Probably Favors.

I doubt it... TT can hurt the Warriors on the offensive glass... Favs really doesn't. Both guys can switch out... Favs a better shooter, but if you are shooting long twos against the warriors you already lost.

Thabo can help guard Thompson and Durant while stretching the floor.
