Its obvious to all the Jazz need a productive 4 to play alongside Rudy and who can stretch the floor.

So. Who is your preferred target?

...has anyone seen the recent clips of Jabari working out??

I factored in cost to acquire the player and contract cost and I think it’s Niko for me.

I like Saric especially because he’s cheap but he’s not as good and Philly ain’t giving him away on the cheap.

IMO Saric is REALLY restricted with what he can do in Philly with Simmons and Embiid there. I also think Philly would love Hood.

He’s not a perfect fit but I don’t think he has the upside as a shooter that Niko does. I’d do Hood for saric all day and may have proposed it a few times.

Parker has a history of severe injuries and would cost too much to either sign or trade for.

I don't see the 76ers trading Saric.

Love is too old for the timeframe we are looking toward.

The draft is a crapshoot.

So.... Niko.

Mirotic is fine if we can land him sending Favors and not giving up a 1st.
But we need a young star in the long term, and that guy is Jabari Parker. Financially we're in a good situation with our rookie playing like a complete star and having no real bad contracts, however the decision to make is "compete now or 2 years later?"

Is this including context like salary etc or purely just who they are as players ?

It's pretty interesting to compare Saric and Mirotic in age 23 seasons here. Saric compares pretty well, and shot better than Mirotic in many categories. But Mirotic still ended up with a higher TS% because: he shot more 3s and got to the line a lot more. Mirotic was also a much better defensive rebounder.

By the way, is there any reason to believe (other than our speculation from afar about team fit), that Saric might be available?

I am speculating but have heard throughout the year he is the odd man out. I also beleive they would love Hood to replace Reddick for next year.

Also if we are throwing 1st rounder around discussing other stretch 4s I would imagine Philly would have interest.

I don't live in Utah and I'm not Mormon. How big of a distraction would Jabari be? It seems like Mitchell is the perfect "face of the franchise."

Would Jabari be a major distraction? Would there be a Jimmer type mania if he was on the Jazz?

Utah mormon here to tell you Jabarri would not be a distraction unless the jazz made it one.

Utah Jazz fan here to tell you the Jazz will make it a big deal....maybe

Jabari would instantly become a fan favorite due to the religious tie. But I just don't see it rising to Jimmer mania. His injury history scares me away tbh.

I’m a Utah Mormon and I prefer Mirotic. He’ll be cheaper (to acquire as well as salary) and I hate a huge peeve of weak rebounding fours.

But in any case, I think when people are faced with the reality you start to realize that a stretch four probably isn’t going to drop from the sky. And I think a stretch four is an absolute necessity, especially if Rubio is starting next year.

I think you are right about him being a fan favorite, but I would like to expand on why he would be a fan favorite. Because I think the fan base is looking for a reason, any reason, to relate to these millionaire kids.

The community, the fans want to make a connection. So yes, a large segment of the population would be excited about Jabari because they believe they something in common with him (mormonism). To me it is like the excitement surrounding Trevor Booker, a huge deal was made about him liking cereal, because hey, many of the fans eat cereal too. Demarre Carroll had bowling, Udoh has books, Raul Neto went hiking in Millcreek, Nerdward got food poisoning from Zuppas. The fans reacted to all these things because they found a way to relate, even if it was in the smallest ways to players who otherwise seem so foreign.

What are peoples thoughts on the Wolves Nemanja Bjelica??

A 6'10 guy who can handle the ball, good finisher, rebounds, defends ok and shoots the 3.. he's in his 3rd year and is coming out of contract but is 29yrs and has experience in Europe (former Euroleague MVP and Turkish League champs).

I think he could be a great fit at around $8M-10M/yr.

Great breakdown of his skillset:

Sure, but $8M is a little steep. Jerebko money, at most. In fact, what does this guy give us that Jerebko doesn’t?
