Trading IT is an addition by subtraction move for Cleveland. It's clear that Cavs players didn't like IT and vice versa. Check this out from just a few days ago...

They got end of bench/rotation guys... This does nothing.

The subtracted a guy who wasn't playing (Frye) and a guy who couldn't defend and was a constant distraction (IT).

If Clarkson can be a threat 20 minutes a night, he's a huge addition over those two above.

You'd be happy too if you got your mortal enemy to pay more future money to help you get to sunny LA and give you a better basketball situation.

Can't wait to see Clarkson's defense on Kyrie/Wall/Lowry/Dragic/Curry (they don't make it that far this year)

And maybe nobody to spend it on either....... I think LeBron stays. I think PG stays. After that, who they getting? Melo? IT? Favors? Hood?

I think he is just Dan Gilbert's mouthpiece. This trade makes no sense at all.
 
If Hood stays, it tells me the FO is confident they can resign.

Lebron wanted IT gone hence why it happened. If he bolts, will be a funny thing.

Honestly, all it tells us is that the return wasnt enough to outweigh the risk of him getting vastly overpaid.
