Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Are you saying a center that puts up triple doubles shouldn't be considered right up there with Embiid as a top center in the league?
The reason I go there with Rudy is that some day - and I'm not saying it's next season or in three years - but with Donovan set to make $30M+ after his rookie deal and Rudy likely wanting $30M+ in his 7th year, the Jazz WILL be facing a salary crunch. The choice will be to start letting guys like Crowder and O'Neale leave or to perhaps decide a one-dimensional center isn't worth $30M.

I'm sorry. I recognize the defensive value to the team that Rudy has. But even in the P&R he's limited. How many times has he dropped the ball, or put up an ugly shot? He seems to have regressed from last season. This may be AK all over again. Signs the big contract and then doesn't work very hard in the summer. Gobert looks like he had lots of fun traveling to France and Brazil with Raul, but didn't work on his game.

A case can be made for a more mobile 5 who can shoot, especially as tax issues arise.
I dont like this post

Except that is factually untrue. Gobert did work on his game. There were articles and interviews (like the Hoopshype one) were he talks about things he focused on in his offseason training. Yes he did go the Brazil and home but don't make stuff up to paint a narrative.

We REALLY have to beat the blazers next week. Extremely critical game. Buckle up boys
If we can keep them off the perimeter then we should be fine, but this is a tough matchup.

I'd put Jokic up there with him. Gobert is great defensively, but he really sucks on offense. He still has hands of stone. Just glad he's willing to set moving picks so shooters can get looks and or drives to the hoop. Someday, I predict DL will be faced with a tough decision re: Rudy.

Terrible take. Rudy's not terrible on offense, and he's elite on defense. So whatevs.

I would put that "Billy Madison" clip in here, but I think it would be redundant.

Gobert is a very good offensive player.
Why, because he's a good shooter? No, but he's an efficient shooter (TS=63%)
Why, because he's a good passer? No, but he creates space for teammates (6 screen assists/game : best in NBA)
Watch this video, especially from 0:40 to 4:30

Why borrow trouble? Isn't Rudy still in the 1st year of his 4-year contract? There is sooooo much happening between now and 2021.

I'm sure DL's salary spreadsheet already has Rudy's FV included.
