What's new

ESPN has a headline article about JINGLES?

read most of it before, but you know always happy to see average joe get a bit of press.

Pretty sure every ESPN page should start with Joe Ingles.

I find it funny that our team was better last year and got very little attention... Replace Hayward with DM and now I think we getting as much or more national attention than we have before... guess that's what happens when you go from a maybe star to a super star.

This team could have Hill and Hayward on it plus everybody else, basically.

Kind of a non-sequitur, I know. But, ****, that would've been neat.

Those two alone would’ve accounted for $50 million dollars. I’m okay with the fact that things worked out the way they did. Would’ve been fine with Hayward staying, but I’m happy with the flexibility that they have right now.

What? We'd literally be a contender. Flexibility for what exactly if not for that?

It's last year's team plus a healthy Favors, improved Ingles, and Donovan ****ing Mitchell. Ya, definitely a contender. 3rd best team in the league without a doubt.

Better than Toronto? I'm not sure. It may be the salt, but I am kind of glad we aren't paying Haywood 30 million or more for the next 4 years. He certainly wouldn't consider himself a second option at that price. Make me choose between him and Mitchell as the featured player, it ain't even that hard. He's a good player, but I don't think he is top 15 or maybe even 20. We'd be better this year, but we would be bleeding talent from next year on. I don't think Haywood has any more jumps left in his game.

Burn! I know you didn’t mean it that way, but pretty sure 90% of us will read it that way.

Maybe but he was an absolute beast toward the end of the season last year and was trending upward even in the playoffs. I like the spirit of this team much better tho

It's 100% salt. Hayward will make any team he plays for better, regardless of who he plays with and that is exceptionally rare.

How about leaving the mega-max for Donovan, instead of giving it to Gordon?

DM will be an RFA in 4 years, right after Hayward's contract would've ended, and he won't be eligible for the mega-max, just the normal max you give to good rookies at the end of their first contract.

The day we sign Donovan to the mega-max will be a great day for this franchise.

...back to what this post was about though. It was nice to see Donovan mentioned in another article....oh wait I mean it was nice to see Joe Ingles in a featured article. Joes a great guy, a funny guy, great teammate, good leader, good locker room guy, and a guy who truly loves the Jazz organization and is a great ambassador for the Jazz. Glad to see Joe get some attention. He’s improved so much for a guy that looks like he should be playing church ball somewhere.

Of course he makes us better, are you going to argue that he makes us contenders? Because at a second contract max, he better be getting you closer than I think he does.

Snyder says Ingles "has come to represent what our program is all about," proof that a player in the middle of his career can make a major jump with the Jazz

A core of Gobert DM and Hayward makes us a contender in two years

Hayward is gone and we need to stop talking about him. Forget what could have been. We now have ******** Donovan Mitchell. Love what you got not the what if.
