Mitchell Draft Night Interviews

A couple weeks ago there was some mention of Mitchell's reaction when he found out he was traded to the Jazz. A fist pump was mentioned. I still can't find anything definitive on this but here are a couple of draft night interviews where he seems pretty excited.

"At Louisville you can take 25 shots as long as you play great defense, so obviously I'm not going to be able to take 25 shots my rookie year, or pretty much any year in the NBA," he said. "But I'm just going out there, really just working on better shot selection knowing you're going to get four shots a game, maybe sometimes two, and you just gotta be able to knock down shots when they count and do your role."

Yeah, some nights Donovan will get four shots a game...

So insane where he's at right now compared to where everyone, including himself, expected him to be. He was supposed to come in as a defensive specialist who wouldn't be counted on for points.

I truly don’t think he’s kidding when he says he did not expect all of this soo fast. I think he’s just as suprised as anyone. I mean as suprised as we are, it seems the Jazz FO truly wanted this kid. From the stories of DL telling everyone they better not talk about his workout, to trading Lyles and their pick to get him, DL deserves a lot of credit because they saw more than defense in Donovan to want to get him so badly......mostly probably how good of a kid he is.

From a year ago saying he didn’t know if he could survive in the NBA, to saying he wouldn’t be shooting 20 shots a night (let alone playing 40 minutes a night) to now essentially being the face of this franchise, going to all Star weekend, winning the slam dunk contest, 3 ROM awards, being under consideration for ROY, being relied upon as a point guard/offense during the 4th quarter....yeah I’m sure he’s even suprised himself at times, I’m sure it’s been a whirlwind of a year for him, and we are lucky to be the ones on it with him. It’s credit to him being able to handle it, embracing it, and representing himself in the best way possible....oh and this is season 1, he’s so so special.

Here’s another video I’m not sure has been posted on here

I love Donovan. I want to be his friend.

@donovan come to a poker game, coming in May.

The ultimate fan/player opportunity there has ever been.

Let's make it happen!

Utah is a beautiful city. lol

Hey some guys he plays basketball with are older than me.

Worst "hey i'm still young and unlike you old bastards i still have a future" post ever. Everything gets worse as you get older Jazzta, every day is an enduring misery, you have nothing to look forward to.
