After bringing in:
QB: Tyrod Taylor
WR: Jarvis Landry
CB: Damarious Randall

If you were the Browns GM what would you do with the #1 & #4 picks?

Personally, after watching Kizer for a year I am so excited to have QB that can take care of the football and move the chains. I think if Taylor has a FO that beleives in him he can do great things in Cleveland. What is Taylor? A top 12-15 QB? I can live with that.

I take Barkley at #1 and Josh Allen at #4 with the expectation that Allen has an Aaron Rodgers type apprenticeship if you will and not look to start for 2 yrs at a minimum.

Take Chubb at 1 and pair him with Garrett and sign Suh to a semi-reasonable deal with an opt out to build a killer d line.

Draft the ND O lineman at 4. With him and Thomas coming back, they would have a great o line, in theory anyway.

This is how you build winners. In the trenches.

Then watch as the 1st round unfolds, hoping one of the QBs drops and if so, they should move up for him, really specifically if it’s Darnold or Mayfield most of all imo. If that doesn’t happen, I would target Sony Michel with their 2nd rounder.

Having that core in place, I would then make a major pitch to Kirk Cousins. If he’s already signed, I like Luke Falk a little later in the draft.

I like that.

Im not sold on the franchise QB idea, its just so rare that you find a Manning/Brady/Rodgers type. I would prefer a competent QB and then building a winning team around him.

I dont know **** about NFL drafting, but I called Dak Prescott so I'm basically an expert.

I'd take Chubb #1 because everyone says he is the best so I guess he is the best.

Then I'd take Lamar Jackson 4th. He always looked great to me when I watched and i dont get anyone saying he should be a WR, it's ludicrous. Also, the last pro drafted out of Louisville was Donovan Mitchell, so let the streak ride. Baker Mayfield would be the only other QB I'd consider.

I'm with Wes here, but I wouldn't trade up for any of those Qb's mentioned, I would however consider moving up for Lamar

I wanted the 49ers to pick Dak, was sick to my stomach when the Cowboys picked him, however I've cooled on him this last season, felt he regressed some, though that could be because of Elliott's suspension. Who knows.

It's not because of Elliot. Not much anyway. He's just not very good. He's an average, probably at best, NFL qb.

I like the Louisville angle but you are right in saying you know nothing about drafting.

I dont disagree with your picks but you'd never take them #1 & #4. Lamar could be special!

Barkley, Chubb, Nelson and one of the QBs Rosen/Allen/Mayfield/Darnold are all the names I would watch .

Not that high on Tyrod. He's a bridge until whichever QB they draft develops. Sure you can hope to build a team around an average QB, but how many times does that result in a SB victory? Philadelphia this year; Foles got hot. But past SB's have been won by top-10, top-5 QB's, with just occasional exceptions. Taylor is not that guy.

If I'm Cleveland, I'm tempted to trade down with one of those picks. Saquon is very good, but the draft is deep in RB's. I'm not sure you draft one that high. A QB and either Chubb or Nelson would be a great draft. Cleveland should take the QB #1 since both the Jets and Giants may target QB's at #2 and #3.

Only the Mannings are top picks to win a SB...

Brady - nope
Big Ben - nope (#8 but QBs taken before him)
Wilson - nope
Rodgers - nope
Flacco - nope

So Im not sure who all these QBs are that you are referring too?

Defense won the Ravens and Broncos their SBs...

Also, I think Tyrod could be Mayfields ceiling and I have a feeling the Browns like him. Tyrod imo is a top 12-14 QB who has proven himself as a winner, takes care of the ball and makes plays on his feet. Id be tempted to hand him the keys.

Browns - Rosen/Allen/Mayfield
Giants - Barkley
Jets - Mayfield/Rosen/Allen
Browns - Chubb
Denver -Nelson/QB left

Giants would be CRAZY to pass on Rosen. Hes so polished and easily the best QB in the draft, hes a Manning clone!

I dont think he'd buy into Cleveland anx thats why I dont have much interest in him but he would be PERFECT in NY.

Rofl. Do you watch football? Tyrod stinks.

Qb’s better than Tyrod.

Wentz
Alex Smith
Eli
Dak
Rodgers
Cousins
Stafford
Newton
Brees
Ryan
Wilson
Jimmy G (yes, I’m saying it already)
Goff
Brady
Flacco
Dalton
Big Ben
Luck
Watson
Bortles (better than TT in playoffs)
Mariota
Rivers
Keenum
Carr

That’s 24 qb’s. You could definitely say to take off Bortles, and maybe argue another 3-6 but he is nowhere near being a top 12-14 qb. Outside of Bortles, every GM in the league would take those guys over Tyrod.

All the guys you listed arent all better.

Id separate into
Teir 1 - 4 QBs
Teir 2 - 6 QBs
Teir 3 - 6-8 QBs

Id have Tyrod in teir 3. But for anyone to take care of the football is so foreign to a Browns fan, its kind of a big deal. Id focus on building an awesome defense, its more of a sure thing than hoping to luck out on a FQB.

Every single GM in the league would take all of them (outside of Bortles maybe) over Tyrod Taylor.
